I stayed in Hotel Ronak resort in April 2016. Hotel staff was very helpful and polite. Making their guests happy is their Motto. Cooks makes the food arrangements as per the guest's wishes. Rooms were very very pleasant and beautiful.
Hotel Owner Mr Mehra is very polite and gave us some really valuable tips regarding our stay in Kashmir. His hospitality is just wonderful.
Loved this hotel from the bottom of my heart!

We had visited Ronak resort during our visit to Kashmir. It is an average homestay and not an hotel/resort as the owner claims it to be. Food was average, with not much varieties in the buffet. Parking place is very small. It is in the interior of the Vakil layout in Srinagar and not at walkable distance from Dal lake, as the hotel claims to be.

This place is perfect homestay. The staff is good, food served was very nice and tasty. Rooms were clean and hot water was available all the time. Our demands were fullfiled easily. Manager was very co-operative guided us on every aspect.
They did not even charge for extra tea and coffee.
The only draw back of this place is it is situated far from the city, vakeel colony which has narrow lanes and very sharp turns, finding by urself is very difficult.
But if u want to stay in peace away from the crowd and noise it is a perfect place.

I am one of those who got fooled by the good reviews for this homestay.
This is not at all a resort but the owner is fooling people with this name. I stayed here for 4 nights and so I know enough to talk about this. My stay here was full of surprises starting from room to food. This homestay is in one of the suburbs and quite far from the Key places in Srinagar. Finding this place is a big task and locality is not that great. During one of my stays there was locals fighting at night 1 am with iron rods and it was a scary situation. Security is definitely a big concern as its in a far off place from city with no army/ police station nearby. My son didn't sleep that entire night and was scared to go back to the resort. The resort staff were in complete denial of discomfort and said its common here.
I was given room with no attached bath room, it was a weird setup with bathroom outside in common with one more room. The owner hardly listens to any query and interested in filling rooms. The resort food is a big issue for South Indians as even a bowl of curd gets charged here though u are on MAP, and after 2 bowls they will plainly refuse rice or curd. I was charged for every cup of tea though I was on all inclusive plan.
We could not take bath on 2 days as there was no hot water at 8 AM and we were told that the resort is full so nothing can be done.
Worst of all is the cheating that happened during my stay. I had split 4 nights as 2 nights in the beginning and 2 nights at the end. After finishing my first 2 nights I was asked to pay the part payment amount of 5k by the resort staff and told that I can collect the receipt when I return for other 2 nights. Towards the end of my trip when I was checking out the owner completely denied receiving any money and asked for receipt. The staff who had collected money denied and as a group they all threatened me to pay 5k again. The owner and staff colluded to rob me of 5k. I, fearing for my life and family paid 5k again and left the place in a hurry. I was worried about going to the police and raised complaint with my travel agent. Finally travel agent did the investigation and helped me to get my money back.
I know it's a long review for a small home stay but I want everyone to be Aware before making their choice.
Ground floor rooms are better than upper rooms.

Go for the cottages on the 1st and 2nd floor , they give you some decent views .
