Had been here in Oct 15 with family & went back in March 16 with friends. The rooms are average thou neat & clean but if you want to enjoy nature then this is the place. A one night stay is perfect hence this is a great option for a short weekend gateway. The staff are very helpful esp the manager Mr. Manjunath. The Oct trip with my family was fun, we all 10 stayed in the dormitory. The landscape was just changing hence lots of tall grass at the end of the monsoon. The sunset trek walking thru over 5 ft grass was an amazing experience for my nature loving family. At night the jeep safari too was quiet something, we spotted a huge scorpion, a snake & a jungle mouse. It was a star studded night so saw a few shooting stars on the clear night. As we were the only guest that weekend on this sudden planned trip the hotel even arranged a bonfire for us which we enjoyed till the wee hrs of the morning. My bro noticed that the gardens had some lovely banana trees so requested the hotel to serve us our meal on these leaves to which they happily obliged. Next day an early morning swim in the icy cold water, overlooking the mountains & listening to the birds was an experience I will never forget. Looking forward to going back sometime in the monsoons, I'm sure it would be heavenly then.
We had planned a group picnic of 20 people on 11th & 12th February. Location is really good. Amidst the nature, greenery and jungle. If you are nature lover its a must visit place. Staff is well trained and cooperative. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Bathrooms were neat and clean. What you most like is sunset trekking and Night Safari. Rather than going to visit resorts full of people, this was a different thing and good choice. The journey to wild camp is also memorable. Guys must visit at least once and cherish your memories forever.
Our trip was planned at last minute, did not want to go far away which involved too much travel as we were traveling with three kids. Also, was not interested in commercial place with plush hotel amenities. Just happened to look at the newspaper article which some natural scenery, kids pool area and play area and thought would be good for a weekend. Resort is really far off for first timers and would surprise you with things it had to offer. No pollution, no noise, no A/C, no TV, natural breezy atmosphere will chilling nights. The high point was early morning large pool dip, the sunset point, camp fire, the night safari in open jeep (doesn't matter if you don't spot any animal as it can't be timed, sheer luck you see..) and open sky with lot of stars (sky looks different from what we have in Mumbai). Also visited Vaitarna Lake 20 kms from the resort again, quite & fresh nature surrounding attractive mountain scenery. My wife & kids had fun in water & click some awesome pics. My visit in Jan 2017 was good, recommendation for best visit period is also june-July to enjoy two natural waterfall around the resort. One should visit to admire nature and a rush free place to chill!!!
After reading reviews on tripadvisor and also newspaper articles, we decided to come in this resort and give our regular resort a skip..for a change. We had booked a dormitory for 14 pax as the resort was full and no "COTTAGES" were available. The rate offered here is too high as compared to service provided. We paid double the rate as compared to our regular resort. When I reached reception, I was asked to pay full payment on arrival. Dormitory room was just a disaster. I asked them to show me cottages, and what they called cottages were literally shabby rooms with bad paint on wall. We found frogs in bathrooms, uncleaned bathrooms, brown coloured water from tap.. No proper garden area fo kids to play. Not adequate greenery in resort. Unmainted sports equipment provided. No room service after 10.30 pm. No one picks the phone. No one was bothered to clean rooms, or serve us water regularly in rooms. we saw some other guests from dormitory room cooking chicken in garden area at around 11 pm..and no staff member intervened. Positives : Pool was very big and nice but again high levels of chlorine in water. Food was great with nice options. Sunset point trek was really nice.. Not recommended.
Perfect destination to relax from mechanical routine life. Excellent hospitality and nice ambience. Night safari is awesome in addition to the cozy camp fire.. Excellent cusinie and fantastic overall experience.. Very much satisfied and suggest all to visit at least once..
