A POCKET OF JOY!
Being one with nature was a great experience. We were thrilled to be
in a nature friendly Resort. It is one of the best Resorts that I have
ever visited. Being able to enjoy sunrise and sunset with my friends
was extra special. The food was delicious. The staff at the Resort
were helpful, courteous and keen to make our stay most enjoyable. The
rooms were good. The connected rooms were really exciting. At the Poly
Farm I saw the biggest pig, ever! The farm animals- guinea pigs,
rabbits and horse were interesting. Playing on the lawns and dancing
around a splendid bonfire was great! I walked like I never did in my
life! The cleanliness and greenery were super! Wherever I looked, I
found something new..Emu! The view from the hill top was spectacular!
There was so much
space to play! I just want to say Thankyou!

I went with my family and cousins...the service and the staff was very good.. the place is so beautiful.. so many activities including kayaking, river crossing.. excellent food... we were really impressed and planning to visit again.
A good weekend getaway from Ernakulam. Though the place- Kulamavu is not as enchanting as Munnar and Wagamon, the resort experience will definitely be memorable. Lot of outdoor activities like trekking, boating, etc are arranged within the resort. It also has a good animal/bird firm where the customers are allowed. But the highlight of the stay was the service provided. Have never experienced such outstanding service even in 5 Star resorts. All the staff of the resort, right from the GM to the room boy where extremely warm and accommodative. Other resorts should send their staff to be trained here.
I was a trip leader for 80 grade 7 students (ages 12-13), and we stayed at Green Berg Holiday Resorts. The grounds are quite expansive yet feel more like a cozy campus or get away; with our numbers (85), I do not think the resort could host more than 100 if you needed to stay over night; however, if you want to bring a group here for the day--they could host more.
There is a football pitch and outdoor covered pavilion/gathering space for large group activities. Near this area are also pathways to walk up the hillside to overlook the gorgeous valley far down below. In another area of the "campus" they are building a ropes course. Part of it is finished now. The resort also has an area for swimming, a basic play ground and another smaller green space where our students were able to play volleyball and badminton (we brought equipment--not sure if they have some to loan out). It is not a proper or full size court, but rather an outdoor pitch and it was just fine for our students. The students loved the pool. The pool is not heated and can be chilly when the sun is not out. There are separate male and female changing rooms right next to the pool. Not too far from the pool are a basic zip line and a pond in which our students did bamboo rafting. They loved it! Both of these activities could easily be done with 6 year olds and up with supervision. And if that is not enough, we also spent 2 nights at the amphitheatre and danced by the campfire the resort made for us. The resort set up sound equipment, managed the music, and the students loved it! Sachin and his team were always keen to make it a trip about the students and for the students.
What we loved most about the resort is that each cabin/loge was a bit different and they were not all joined together like motels are. In fact, most lodges were separate--but all had a front porch with a few chairs and small table. We loved that we could separate the boys and the girls, yet all the students were near by. There is one block of 4 rooms that are like a house and the 2 rooms on the ground floor are connected with a door that locks. And the same for the rooms above. You could easily host a family in this particular unit or two families. The rooms are basic but nice. All rooms were equipped with a TV and internet. There is hot water. If there is no hot water, it means the gas tank needs to be changed because they are not electric (no issues, call the front desk). You can order room service, if you like (we did not). Do note that many of the beds are twin beds, and some are full size beds. There are no king size beds to my knowledge. All bedding is provided, as are bath towels.
The resort also provided us with amazing food! It is all fresh (prepared daily per meal) and great care was taken with students who had nut allergies and who had specific needs such as Jain preferences. We even managed to have non-spicy food in India! The cooks constantly stood by the food and asked us each meal if anything needed to be adjusted or if we would like more of this or that. I am not sure they can do that on personal basis--we had the resort exclusively. However, I feel confident that if you asked in advance or when making reservations they would try to accommodate your needs.
Mobile phone use at the resort will be intermittent. Depending where you are on the property you might have only 1-2 bars of connectivity. I found the internet so much more reliable for communicating to parents and loved ones. Keep in mind this resort is 3 hours from Cochin--and the last hour is going up a mountain--so you are more out in the countryside rather than a large city. Although you are out in the country, there are medical facilities available. We carried our own first aid kits with us because were traveled as a school group; however, if you need to have access to these types of items, then I would inquiry with the front desk in advance to ensure access/availability in case of an emergency.
There are no safes in the room, but you can lock personal items in the main office of the resort. The campus/resort is very safe. There was constant security patrolling throughout the night on all the grounds and in shifts throughout the day. I am not sure if that was put in place because we were a school group or if that is the norm. You will have to ask.
Sachin and his team are so generous with their time and hospitality in order to make your stay pleasant. I am sure you will not be disappointed. If you need anything, just ask for Sachin! And yes, hands down, we would take students there again--and I would love to spend a long weekend there with my family.
