I was pleasantly surprised to find a decent hotel in the small town of Thiruvannamalai. Firstly, I depended on Google to take me to this hotel, but landed up about 1/2 km away in the middle of nowhere. Had to call the hotel to get directions. The hotel is quite a distance from the Arunachaleswarar Temple and Ramana Maharishi Ashram. Rooms are well appointed, neat and clean. View from the room was not good with a lot of rubble thrown in a vacant plot next to the hotel. Restaurant is good; buffet breakfast was adequate. Wifi was totally inadequate (no signal many times and also very slow) and the manager said that it could be because we were in the room at the end of the corridor or because it was end of month and their quota might have been consumed (both unacceptable reasons). If I would go back to the hotel ? Probably not due to the lacunae as mentioned in my review. Would like to try another hotel if reviews are better. An A2B restaurant is within walking distance from the hotel, but is exorbitant.
