FRAUD!!! BE AWARE!!!

We had made a booking in this resort from 26 to 28 Dec booking of 2 adults and 2 children. The booking was done on 25 -Nov-19 via credit card. Unfortunately, my father in law fell sick and was admitted to ICU. We sent a mail for cancellation on 9th-December-19. There was one Mr. Ramakrishna who was in touch with us and had told us that if we inform them 7 days before cancellation they will refund the money. We informed him on 9th December and kept sending reminders but neither did they respond back via mail or pick up our calls. This man or this resort is either fake or they take booking from people and don't respond back.PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHILE BOOKING THIS RESORT. THEY MIGHT CHEAT U TOO.

Royal suite room in Lawstone cottage
by dirkv46 on
If you see the attached pictures this doesn't look like a Royal suite room in Lawstone cottage. We were also told it's full with heritage furniture.... but we didn't found it. Only 4 beds and 2 chairs.
The bathroom doesn't invite you to use it. Also the hot water system was already broken for one week.
One positive point ... the owner allowed us to use the shower in another bungalow (MD small cottage) which was much nicer.
This accommodation is in a quiet location which is nice.
Resort in an excellent Location with great view if we can ignore the rest!!

Cotsvilla is right in foothills of Anamalai in Sethumadai village. So, as you enter the resort you will have 180 degree view of the Anamalai range, which make it picturesque and attractive. Resort lies on the left-hand side of the forest gate. Best time to visit would be during the winters.
Good part of the resort
Valparia is 55 km from resort (If you follow Google Map), lesser if you follow the route suggested by the resort manager. There are loads of sightseeing points on the way. If you are interested in wildlife then on your way up the Ghats or coming down, you may spot Nilgiri Tahr & the endangered Lion Tailed Macaque.
Cotsvilla offers night safari on the forest road side, where you can spot Deers, Samba, Wild Gaur & Elephants. Resort Manager will send a local person to accompany you in your vehicle to show route and help you act in case you encounter a wild elephant.
If you go in season when there is clear skys then this best place to star gaze. During clear sky night, you can see millions of stars on the back drop of the Anamalai range. It really a great sight to watch.
If you are not travel person type, then this place is a good place to lazy around reading book or sleeping.
Cotvilla has 2 sections with a road going in middle, one of section has Wifi and you get mobile data & on the other side you get mobile data in some sections of property.
Now for the Bad Part
Cotsvilla has got an excellent website & you can use the site to view the types of rooms available and book. What you dont know is you cant cancel the booking, hence your booking amount will be never paid back to you. Best way out of it to change your booking to later date by calling the front desk.
Please discount 50% of activities listed on the website.
Cottage listed on the website such has Shilton, Avon, Aston & Hayward, have weird rooms structed for instance some have bathroom with an open top, right between 2 sections. I leave it to people imaginations. Some rooms have bathroom which is open to sky, which sounds good in the 1st instance, but must know that you have forest next your room . Worst of all is many of rooms were made using local masonry hence the walls are not properly covered, which results in outside light & insect coming into your room from those gaps. Please dont be alarmed if you see a gecko or some other night crawlers coming into your room, they have people staying nearby who will come to help you .
Resort doesnt have intercom facility, hence you have walk towards to kitchen or the staff quarters for any/every request.
Food is prepared by the people who work in farm hence its as basic as it can get. If you are frequent traveler and have been many other resorts then have a lowest expectation so that you can enjoy the food.
My recommendation, its good for one time visit and especially because of the location. Its beautiful and serene, which make you forget the other issues around. Staff is very good and try their best to provide their best with the available resources.
Route: Bangalore > Hosur > Salem > Coimbatore Highway > Avinashi > Tirupur > Pollachi > Meenkarai RD > Ambarampalayam - Sethumadai Road
Decent place to stay
by Deepu V on
This place is located near to Topslip with a great view of the hills. The rooms are located in a vast space full of coconut trees, ducks, cows and a horse. The rooms are clean but there are a lot of insects considering that this place is near to a forest. Room service is not that great and one has to walk a good deal to reach reception or restaurant.. The dinner buffet was expensive and the only option available but the food was good. Overall a decent stay and a good change of scene
