Not a good Hotel Not a good Hotel

by Jatan18 on November 14, 2016

Hi Guys. Well My Visit to Tsomoriri Lake was awesome because according to me it one of the most beautiful lakes i have ever seen. The warer is so calm and blue over here. This part of Ladaakh is definitely very cold. As far as the Hotel is concerned. They have their own limitations because of which they are not able to provide proper facilities to the customers who come down here. The basic facilities like, electricity and water are in too much scarce at this place. Sometimes you dont even have enough water to go to the Loo. Hence please take be choosy on your timings. The reason i am giving 3 stars to this place is because the food and the tea over here at this place was amazing.. Hence when u start your day, you get good breakfast so that you can walk along long way till the lake. The food in the evening is also served nice. But overall the hotel experience was too bad. But guys dont miss out on visiting this place. You have many other options for lodging. You can book the tents at the camp site over there which would provide you all the facilities. See you soon. Bye.

One of our worst experiences One of our worst experiences

by Pushkar L on October 2, 2016

This was by far our worst experience in our otherwise pleasurable 10 day Ladakh trip. Since this is the only cement-concrete walled hotel at the remote location of TsoMoriri, we had booked the hotel almost 3 months in advance by paying 4500 rupees for a room (an exorbitant amount for which one can get a luxury hotel room anywhere in India). Since the road to Pangong Tso was closed due to sudden landslide, we had to reschedule and interchange our dates for Pangong and TsoMoriri. We called up the Lakeview Hotel and only after we were assured of a room on the changed date, did we embark on the journey to this remote place. On reaching, the owners son told us that no rooms were available in the hotel and the only option was to stay in a homestay. He showed us two homestays which were dingy, unhygienic, ill-maintained and unlivable. However, since there was absolutely no choice, we chose the lesser of the evils amongst them. This place was absolutely terrible and filled with dust, creepy crawlies and rats! We somehow managed to spend the night there. In the morning, as we spoke to the owners son about settling our accounts, he said that the same is taken care by his father from Leh (whos cell is perennially out of coverage area) and it will be settled soon. What we were expecting is immediate refund of our paid up amount after deducting the one-night homestay charge and cancellation fee. Here too the owners son tried to dupe ussaying that the homestay would cost us about 2.5k where as the homestay owner himself quoted 1.3k later! Numerous phone calls and email to the owner has not resulted in anything. Its almost 2 months now and we have still not received our refund. The son and father play the blame game with neither taking responsibility. These are the most unprofessional, arrogant and non-cooperative guys I have ever met. I would strongly recommend against staying at this LakeView hotel, the rooms of which are at best utilitarian.

If tsomoriri is on your itinerary here is how to plan briefly with activities how to reach : you can hire private taxi or shared car one can also get last minute good deals from many tour operators in leh waiting to fill seats which they put on notice boards - economical it is about 7-8 hrs drive from leh no of days : plan for min of 3n4d where to stay : lake view - very good staff and owner, good food with hot water facility - highly recommended to stay what to do : 1st day -rest evening walk near monastery 2nd day : small trek to near by mountain - must do afternoon : walk along the lake as long as you want with an option of climbing the near by hill you can also plan to visit during one of the famous buddhist festival in tsomoriri the drive from leh and the village is truly worth visiting if you are in panong tso instead of returning to leh you can also try to go via observatory ( o/n stay and proceed ) but enquire about shyok river situation return to leh via tsokar lake , one of the most beautiful drives in ladakh region carry warm cloths, trekking shoes, other trek gears as there are many options for travellers to do long treks do not forget to visit nomadic village to know about pashmina sheep

Cheats!! Beware!! Cheats!! Beware!!

by agrawalashwin on September 24, 2016

We had confirmed booking of 2 rooms for 1 night made via our agent for check in on the 22nd August. However, when we reached there the guys blatantly told us that our agent has not confirmed the booking. They had no vacant rooms and we were left to fend for ourselves at 7 in the evening with freezing winds blowing. Our driver told that he has seen this happen earlier as well with this hotel and they might have given the room to someone else offering more money. It was thanks to our driver who quickly found a good tent stay we had a decent time there. We were not able to reach our agent that evening but later found from him that lake view had indeed confirmed the booking and he sent us their confirmation for proof. My suggestion would be completely avoid this hotel.

under construction hotel, good service, good bed under construction hotel, good service, good bed

by Asutthida F on September 1, 2016

This hotel is still under construction, we got a room on 3rd floor while the stair roof to 4th floor is open so get wet during rain. Room is just normal but the bedding accessory is quite good, warm and clean. Electricity on and off and hot water is not work. One good thing is the lake view as hotel name because other accommodation around this area is normally on ground so only from this hotel that you can see top view of lake.
