It is a decent hotel. Breakfast is nice. View from hotel is terrific. It is a safe place if you are with family and also want safe parking for your car. But the Wifi is pathetic. They should provide exhaust fan and small chauki in the bathroom.

Udaipur Lights best view Udaipur Lights best view

Hilltop Palace must be visited for one reason alone and that is its spectacular view. The staff is cooperative the music is average and the food decent for a mid range place. However what sets it apart is the absolutely breathtaking view of Udaipur that blows one away. The best time to visit is during the night when Udaipur is flooded with starry lights and atop the palace its great!

Relaxing, good views, excellent staff. Relaxing, good views, excellent staff.

When we checked in we checked the wifi (as we always do) and it was poor so told the desk and they immediately moved us to another room with good wifi signal. The Hotel looks old world but is in fact only 35 years old. Reviewing hotels in India is a bit of a relative thing as the more you stay in the more your standards fall. The shower was a little bit iffy but hot water was available all the time.. Flow was ok. We had a room overlooking the lake which was beautiful and i would recommend paying the small amount extra for this privilege. We took a tuktuk into town both days we were there (150 Rupees). A few things to see in town including the royal palace. Boat rides on the lake available but we didn't take that option. Hey wife had some trousers made at a small tailors in town. Not pushy at all. Called Charity textiles and tailors. Be very hard to find i think but it is by the roundabout down from the Royal Palace entrance. We ate at the hotel and the first night was alacarte but next night there was a tour bus of germans in and we joined in with the buffet which was very good and gave us an opportunity to try some different dishes. At this point i must draw attention to the young man who was the restaurant manager. He was available all the time and helped us choose dishes that weren't too hot (spicy). His English was perfect and he told us he had worked on cruise ships previously. He is a real asset to this hotel and brings it up several notches. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he would happily chat about the area and India in general. Breakfast was buffet but eggs to order were available. Although it was buffet, once you were seated the waiters would bring items and drinks as required. Again guided by the manager who was well versed in Western tastes. One of the best hotels we have stayed at on our tour. We go for mid range hotels in the 30 to 50 range. This one was booked by an agent in Delhi so we didn't have any say in it. Good choice though. I should also say the desk staff were also very helpful and courteous. Always ready to help and give advice.

We were a group of 13 friends and family and had booked double rooms at the hotel from Feb 2 - 5, 2017. The hotel was kind enough to provide us with lake facing rooms. Perched on a hill very close to Fateh Sagar the hotel is white and has typical palatial facade. The reception was very crisp and quick. Some rooms are on floors below the reception area, some above. The rooms are very large and clean. They had balconies with sitting area. Our rooms were overlooking the swimming pool and surrounded by greenery. The beds and baths were very clean. There was a mini tea-coffee service in the room and Room service was efficient. Breakfast and meals are served in the restaurant on reception floor with buffet breakfast and a la carter lunch and dinner. Breakfast was a great spread with South Indian, Rajasthani and a touch of continental stuff. Overall the food was great and on request not spicy at all. One of the highlights of the trip was the immense accommodation by the hotel managers. We were late from Kumbhalgarh and the restaurant closes at 10.30 pm. We requested Lance Lobo, the restaurant manager and they kindly kept the restaurant open till 11.30 pm for us. The bar is Jannat, a roof top affair the view around is fabulous specially at sunset. IMFL have a 30% discount. Overall a great stay and highly recommended.

They have a beautiful Fateh Lake view from this hotel from lake facing rooms. There is also an Swing in the rooms, which makes noise too. Breakfast spread is too good. Live stations are available and we have a wide range of options. Food is expensive! Approach is good. they also have a shop inside the hotel.
