The palace dungeon The palace dungeon

by George E on May 23, 2016

There are good and bad hotels everywhere in the world. Some are bad because they don't know any better. Some hotels are just old and tired and in need of a good face lift. But there are just a few hotels that don't care about there clients and think that because they are only part of a package arrangement from Delhi they neither need to care about the condition of their hotel and services or the requirements of their guests. The hotel kiran palace is such a hotel. There are much cheaper alternatives in Udaipur and with far far better moral concern for visitors than the people who run this hotel on a daily basis. Dirty rooms, dirty bedding, poor breakfast, and lame service.

Very Average Budget Hotel Very Average Budget Hotel

by Dominic F on February 14, 2016

We stayed in Hotel Kiran Palace for three nights and it is a very average budget hotel. During out time in India we stayed in accommodation that ranged from 1,000 Rs - 2,200 Rs. Of the 8 hotels we stayed in this was one of the worst. In general the staff were nice however the main man on reception was rude and not helpful. The Hotel does not provide toilet paper and the towels are dirty and old. Twice we retuned to our room to find the power turned off - so we have to walk back down four stories to ask them to turn it back on. One morning there was no water. The bed is rock hard as the mattress is about 5cm thick and sitting on a wooden box. The WIFI is almost non existent. It works about 20% of the time when you are on the roof next to the router. The food is good and at reasonable price and the location is very good. I am sure in Udaipur you can find better hotels for a similar price, however in saying that I am sure there are a lot worse of hotels for the same price!

Great place to stay! Great place to stay!

by Billy_DeSaxe on February 10, 2016

Hotel Kiran palace took a little while to win me over, but it got there in the end! The staff were great - office man was a little bland but all the other guys were very friendly and fun. Helped me in right away and made me feel welcome to ask for anything. The room was very basic but did the trick. Bed was clean and comfortable, bathroom worked well, plenty of windows for fresh air, air conditioning. Rooftop restaurant was fantastic. Great included breakfast! Amazing view of the city palace and out over Udaipur. Again, staff were great. Made the stay a lot better. Lalu, took me on a day trip out to Badi lake and into the countryside to see a more authentic India and we had a great day. Decent wifi and great location right in the middle of town close to everything. Highly recommend staying here!

Good hotel for a reasonable price Good hotel for a reasonable price

by Emese A on January 24, 2016

I had a nice, spacious room with a nice view of the City Palace. My bed was not the most comfortable one, but that is just me. Towels, toilet papers, soap were provided. The stuff was very helpful and friendly. The view from the roof was nice. One night I had my dinner up in the roof and the city with its evening lights looked even prettier. It was very peaceful. The food was good, however one morning to make my simple toast and coffee breakfast took about 25 minutes. The location is excellent only a short walk from the City Palace and from the Temple. Travelling on a low budget is an ok choice.

Demo Trip just avoid this hotel

by DanSeph on January 11, 2016

Demo Trip AC, or no AC, it really doesn't matter. All rooms are extremely airy & have fans. They offer you cheap, medium, or better rooms. Always stick with the Medium. They're on the 2nd floor and are in a perfect spot where the sun doesn't shine through too early or late to wake you. (Some rooms have very thin, to no curtains!)
