The hotel is very nice walking distance from the City palace of Udaipur , just initially i was scared of going into such small small lanes leading towards hotel but after staying there it became the best hotels in the whole rajasthan tour.
It was nice and pleasant stay. Enjoyed a lot.
The location of the hotel is just awesome.. jst next to the Lake Pichola.. wat a view.. especially the early morning.. on the other side is the Jagdish temple... The location is just perfect for local shopping and roaming around.. City palace is also very close and conveyance to other places is also readily available... the only problem tht i realized was that they try to push a not so good room if u have a prior booking.. but if u insist they do have better room... Another big problem is of no ventilation in the room... But for the price we are paying.. it is full paisa wasool..

This is a really nice place - we stumbled across it when wandering around Lal Ghat looking for a hotel. Admittedly we stayed in the Heritage Suite (Room 301) but it really wasn't expensive and was a very nice large room, great bathroom and had a really nice old school cozy feel. It is also (as I'm told by the very friendly manager!?!) the room Judi Dench stayed in whilst filming Hotel Marigold. The restaurant is also fantastic (try the pakoras) with the quintessential Udaipur view. Overall I would definitely return ... staff, room, food, location - all first class.
It's a beautiful property, very close to lake pichola (with a terrace view too). The only concern is the approach to this property(roads are very narrow) however if anyone is looking for a stay which is easily accessible to all the tourist spots then this is the place.
If you're looking for a lovely boutique hotel in a restored Heritage Building that is ideally located in the city, then this is perfect. With beautifully restored rooms, a rooftop restaurant and swimming pool offering spectacular lake front views, this was an excellent choice when staying in Udaipur. Within easy walking distance to the lake, shops and the popular City Palace, getting around was easy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, doing everything thing possible to make your stay as enjoyable as can be. The rooftop restaurant was superb serving freshly made meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner! All in all, a great choice! For more detailed information and photos, be sure to visit My Travel Blog.
The hotel is located near Lal Ghat and behind famous Jagdish Temple in a small alley. City Palace is within 5 minutes walking distance. There are several eating joints near the hotel in the market area. Rooms are small but traditional with clean workable bathroom/toilet. The best part of the hotel is its roof top restaurant which offers nice view of the lake and surrounding areas. It also has a small but clean swimming pool on the roof top. Staff is helpful and service oriented with a smile. They suggest you various trips and places to be visited while in Udaipur. Highly recommended.
This is a lovely, clean and spacious hotel that is located right in the midst of all that is the touristy Udaipur. Both the City Palace and Bagore Ki Haveli are a short walk away, as is the Gangaur Ghat. The view from the rooftop restaurants is spectacular. But the view from our room (Room 302) was limited. However, our room was large, bright, airy and clean. Same for the bathroom. I would recommend this hotel for its location, and the view from the terrace. At the same time, this hotel also has the promise of becoming something much better. Visually, the common areas of the hotel has a spartan appearance. Same for the restaurants. This is not at all a deal-breaker. However looking down from the terrace restaurant onto other rooftop restaurants in the adjoining hotels (yes, this is one of the highest hotels in the area) we couldnt but help feel slightly let down by the lack of a visual appeal at the hotel and its restaurants. The restaurants are just not as cosy and inviting. Perhaps a bit of carefully appointed decor, and more subdued lighting would put it right on track. Out of the three dining areas, the pool area wonderfully blends the poolside dining with an amazing view of lake Pichola and the Lake Palace. But they dont serve breakfast there, which is a shame given that it would have been a splendid spot to have a meal and sun oneself at the same time. Also, our room was right below the pool and there was an almost constant loud mechanical hum.It may have had something to do with a pool machinery (Not sure). That needs to be sorted out as well. The food at the hotel is excellent. The daily breakfast, even though limited in choice, is wholesome. And the servers remember individual choices, and are a delight to interact with. But again, the breakfast area needs to be spruced up to bring it visually at par with the other restaurants in the area (Take a look at Natural View Restaurants cosy terrace dining, or Jagat Niwas palaces elegant rooftop dining area). We were told that there is no room service, and food must be had at the restaurant. Though tea is served in the room if required. The cleaning staff is quick and efficient. However we were provided with refilled mineral water bottles which is cheap. A water-jug would have been welcome. Check-out was not as nice as the Check-in. We requested for a late check-out (by 1 hr) and we were flatly refused. Though we later realized that another family had been granted that option (We dont know how. Perhaps they just forced it.) In all, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Try to get a room on the upper floors (Theres no lift, but the rooms would be brighter). We stayed for 4 nights, and loved it.
