I had a very good time in this hotel. Saloni Shah
There is a beautiful view of the city of Udaipur and lake. Hotel staff treat customers like a Maharaj. No doubt hotel is like a palace. I will recommend to all.
Hotel is located in the heart of the city. Our room was well furnished with all the necessities. Also the breakfast was superb in taste. The service provided by the staff was wonderful. This is a recommendable hotel.
It was a massive property with all the modern amenities. The room was luxurious and decor was gorgeous. The staff was professional. The service was quick and food was awesome in taste. It was deserve to be a five star property.
Excellant property, no drawbacks at all. R S Kothari

This place left me with no doubts on its awards, recommendations and ratings. Never met such a warm and humble staff to show you around the property, offer you all the beat possible table for lunch, welcoming additional friends space without having reservations...and what not. Taste, hygiene, ambience deserves Rank No. 1 Glad.
Beautifully located in Udaipur overlooking the City Palace and the Taj Lake Palace (look more like a prison). Well kept grounds and 2 pools and several type of rooms. However, the service was a bit poor. This is the most hectic Oberoi we stayed at with Indian couples taking photo shoots in the hotel, tour groups from A & K, Tauck etc arriving and leaving. Staff where not genuinely nice like at the other Oberoi and many times almost walk into us in the lobby and restaurants. We were upgraded from a no view Premier Room to a Pool View Premier Room, thank you, but had some issues with the room maintenance. An electrical plug in the bathroom came loose while my daughter was trying to unplug her phone charger and shocked her. No serious injuries but something like this should not happened. Told the front desk reception and the assistant GM and they took noticed. While checking out we were charged with a big bar bill, we had a "happy hour" package but where told when checking out that our drinks were not included in the package. A quick word with the executive assistant manager sorted everything out but not a "seamless experience" as advertised. Food was OK and after telling the chef that we had a great dish at their hotel in Jaipur, the chef sent us his version of the dish to our room the next day complementary! Excellent gesture and a very sincere man. If the service had been the same as in Jaipur this would be my most favorite Oberoi for this trip. However, the hotel was too busy with locals doing pre wedding photo shoots, tour groups (high end like A&K, Taucks etc) coming and going which was not peaceful IMO. Pools - the best is their Spa pool with a nice view but gets very busy. The pool outside of our "Pool View Rooms" was OK but no pool boy or service until we finished our swims. Do note that while the Spa Pool and the other pool are heated the pool of the "Semi Private Pool Rooms" are not so it will not be good to swim in during the colder months. Here's a brief review of the other Oberoi we stayed at: The Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra: Great view of the Taj, good service and best breakfast. Rooms were small, compared to the other Oberoi and a bit dated but luxurious. The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur: Beautiful grounds, great Indian restaurant and the best service out of the 4 Oberoi we stayed at. Basic rooms, Premier rooms are good. The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur: The most beautiful Oberoi out of the 4 we stayed at. Beautiful location. Service = the least favorite for us, their staffs almost walked into us several time in the lobby, in the restaurant for breakfast etc. Basic rooms are not that great so at least go for the "pool view rooms". Restaurant = mediocre but the chef tried very hard to make it right for us. The Oberoi Gurgaon, Gurgaon (outskirt Delhi): Business hotel but good service especially considering how busy they are. Nice modern large rooms but the oldest limousine fleet.
Facilities: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Interior: 5/5 Hotel: 5* (above) There are no faults with this place. Magically situated at the bottom of the rolling hills of Rajasthan and the fairytale lake by Udaipur. Signature to Oberoi, the service is impeccable and attention to detail second to none. The entire hotel and surroundings are as if taken straight out of a fairytale. It's expensive, but you get exactly what you pay for: Perfection.
We were here for two nights and experienced consistent and impeccable service. On our first night, the restaurant manager and chef both came out to greet us and offered to cater to any specific dietary requests/preferences. The staff was professional and attentive and the friendliness of the housekeepers and groundskeepers show that the entire staff clearly takes pride in working at such a fine resort (either that or good service training). Note: Taj Lake Palace no longer allows visits by non-hotel guests even if you are willing to spend a lot of money at one of their restaurants, so if this is on your list, you will want to plan your stay accordingly. After my experience at Taj Rambagh Palace, however, I had no regrets not staying at the Taj Lake Palace. I do recommend looking into Raas Devigahr to see if it might be right for you. Destination notes: Udaipur is supposed to be one of the most scenic spots in India; however, for the well-travelled crowd, I think youll find it just okay. In any event, for us, it was the right place to unwind at the end of a week long trip through Rajasthan before heading home. We skipped the shopping (having already bought a ton of stuff along the way) and basically only left the hotel to do the City Palace and a short boat ride on Lake Pichola. Rooms: we stayed in a room with semi-private pool, but that was wasted for Nov/Dec, as the pool is not heated...
We were at the Oberoi Udaivilas to celebrate a special occasion and right from check-in to check-out, they made us feel truly special. The Oberoi chain of hotels, takes hospitality to another level, unmatched really. My wife, loved the 'rose petals welcome'. We even asked them to shower us with petals again; and they obliged, since we didn't catch it on camera the first time. Snehal and Skand at the front-desk were wonderful. House-keeping was top notch! Every time we left the room, Himani ensured that the room was tidied up and was spic and span. What we liked the most was the fact that they took immense care in ensuring that the needs of our seven-month-old were looked at... it was not just superficial, they genuinely cared. The chef called a couple of times, to see if we wanted anything from the kitchen for our infant, his bottles were sterilized, without us asking for them to be. The most minute details weren't overlooked, that's what made the Udaivilas so special for us. Make sure one of the staff members takes you around the property. Surya our guide/naturalist was a charming young gentleman, who engaged us in a interesting conversation. Breakfast at the restaurant was lovely with a good spread, and the service, top class. Sagar ensured that our needs at breakfast were well taken care of. The fact that six months on and we still remember the names of the people who interacted with us, goes to tell how good the service was. Thank Oberoi Udaivilas for your amazing hospitality. We promise to return soon.
