We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. From the outside the hotel looks like a fairy-tale building - very nice and interesting. Our suite was spacious, quiet and clean and when we arrived it was decorated with fresh flowers. The whole hotel is nicely decorated and our room overlooked a small romantic garden. Especially at night we sat in the garden to drink tea.
The hotel is near the lake and the main attractions are within walking distance. From the hotel roof you have a nice view of the lake. The breakfast room and the restaurant are not big but the food and service are excellent.
I was here with an Explore group and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodation and the helpfulness of the staff. Generally when you travel in a tour group, unless it is a luxury group, the hotels are acceptable but not outstanding and the service is perfunctory at best. However, this hotel is a wonderful exception: beautiful, well-decorated rooms and very helpful staff. I particularly want to thank Lovish at reception for his invaluable help in doing my online check-in for my flight.
The only negative point about this hotel is that the wifi does not work in the rooms, but it is fast and reliable in the lobby.
We loved this hotel. Ambiance abound. Good location across the river from the City Palace, the old city, and temples etc. Great breakfasts and easy walking access to shopping and excellent restaurants. A nice little hotel shop.
Udai Kothi is most likely and famous hotel for enjoying of people, people likely restaurant, garden, room , boat ride. So I am advising for visitors place is beautiful.
Udai Kothi is most fabulous place, very nice and clean place
I came across some receipts from one of my trips to India and decided to google the name of the restaurant the bill, as I couldn't recall which it was of the many places I had stayed in. Well, it turned out to be the UDAI KOTHI. I then scanned the reviews and noticed there was some very dissatisfied customer. I can testify, they have all reasons to be steamed up about this place. It is HORRID. And to get to the point, I would never, ever recommend this place. Upon entering the hotel, one was greeted by a stench, which obviously was sewage-related. The prevailing stench stayed the length of our stay. Now, this was 3 years ago, so I'm sure this problem has been taken care of. I'm not going to go into much detail but what I will say is that the place appeared to be unfinished. The place was humongous, cold and it appeared the builders went crazy using marble throughout the hotel. Rumour had it, the owner was the marble king of India. Our room was large, clean and cold in atmosphere. The view from our window was sloppy 'stuff' strewn about and definitely, someone had not bothered with landscaping. I was upset as I had told my partner to book a hotel on the lake. My tip to future travel is to find a hotel on the lake, around the lake, very close by the lake. Start there! Again, as I said, this was 3 years ago!! So if customers are complaining, Take HEED. They are not making this s--t up. Have a great time in India.
