Stayed for 3 nights at moonlight palace, it has been the most expensive place we have stayed in India so far as there is a lot of great accommodation for reasonable prices. Unfortunately we expected our stay to be better for $60 a night. When you use the towels in the room you have to pay for dry cleaning. Smoke from down stairs was coming into our room while we were sleeping, in addition to smoking is allowed upstairs where you are eating which is very off putting. The restaurant upstairs is incredibly unorganized and slow which made it difficult to get out to your days activities at a time you wanted. We literally waited 45 minutes for eggs on toast and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The staff each morning would go out and buy ingredients at 7.30 (the kitchen was meant to open at 7.30) but we could only order by 8.15. The restaurant tables were always dirty from the evening before. Cleanliness was not a priority. It is such a shame to write this review as the staff are very lovely, but we feel other travellers should be informed. We would not stay here again unfortunately,

Friendly and welcoming staff who generally spoke good English and were keen to help. They were kind enough to arrange a free drop off at the train station as we hadn't made use of the free pick up. There was a bit of confusion regarding the manager arranging us a lift somewhere which he didn't think he'd agreed to do so maybe just double check you've got everything straight and understand each other. Room was clean and comfortable with pretty wall decoration and a powerful fan. Wifi was a little intermittent but they always endeavoured to help sort out what was wrong. We enjoyed the sounds from the temple behind the hotel! Rooftop restaurant was really nice surroundings with a good view of the city and really tasty food.
