we booked this guest house in oct 2016. the location is good. very much near to chhaushatti ghat of varanashi. bt the view was zero. the room was OK, as it charge rs 1000/day during puja season, bt need to improve the maintenance. we did not get any kind of room service, and the restaurant was closed that time.Bt the attitude of owner was helpful and good. otherwise you can easily get a better option nearby within the value.
first, we agreed about one price, in the evening he changed it, made it higher. may be its only misunderstanding - but he even don't want to hear my arguments. or may be he is just greedy man. so - be carefull.
Great location: one minute from the gangas river & only few minutes from the main street of godoliya (if you turn right at the end of the alley you'll find Bona Cafe - best coffee I had in my 6 months in India). The family who runs tne place kind & helpful, makes the staying at Varanasi even greater. Recommended
Couldn't be more happy with my stay in Varanasi. I arrived late at night and after much wandering looking for shelter, I stumbled across this gem. The family are so accommodating and helpful. They made my visit here even more enjoyable . Comfortable rooms in great location. Highly recommended by Seany from Ireland
Funny story about how kind and helpful the family is who runs this place: I stayed at the Buddha Guest House for four days in February 2016. One of those days, I stubbed my toe super bad - I thought I had maybe broken it, and I still couldn't walk right the next day. The family asked me about my limp and I sheepishly explained my clumsiness... But they were immediately sympathetic and were not about to just let me trudge about. They wanted to spare me the harassment of a hospital so they offered to phone their family doctor and book me an appointment. I agreed. A very short time later, the oldest brother, Ajit, showed up on his motorbike. He whisked me through the winding streets, expertly handling the fascinating traffic ecosystem of cows and dogs and people and other two-wheelers, taking shortcuts and getting me the doctor's in around ten minutes, whereas a rickshaw would have taken much longer. In less than an hour, I had my x-ray taken, foot wrapped up nice by the kindly doc, a few pain and inflammation meds prescribed and received, and I was whisked back to the Buddha Guest House. I quickly had been given peace of mind about my injury, which turned out to be just a glorified booboo, but the care I was shown by this family, and the awesome experience of flowing down the sidestreets on the back of a most skillfully driven motorbike, will stay with me as happy memories long after my foot has forgotten its stubbed toe. Also, the guest house itself is very charming, lovely location extremely close the ghats, with an understated and private-feeling roof that offers some interesting views of the Ganga and nearby buildings. I had a great time staying here. Would stay again.
