I stay in hotel two days .nice hotel lift available is good for senior citizens location was very good near by bank of reiver and temple service is good room was clean but little bit small.all employees behaviour is good but one lady receptionist behaviour is very sweet my father very impressed with girl she know that how to represent to guest.she is allocated every thing my father and mother she get a good service.food was very testy.one thing is bad one body always stand by tip in restr.
Checked in for 2 nights in this hotel on our honeymoon. Location: It is hidden away on the upper floors of its building but it's up there. Location is good distance for walking down to the ghats. Facilities: rooms are on the smaller side. Bathroom was clean and hot water boiler worked; however, the floor didn't drain very well after showering and there was no squeegie in the room. Ambience: check-in was rather slow here. I got the sense this hotel caters more to Indian travelers than international. That being said, they arranged a ghat boat tour, car to airport and helped us find a local airtel for topup. There were renovations being made and even 2 floors down we could hear the hammering in our room during the morning. Food:The restaurant was empty when we went and the menus were very worn and old. Many items were not available. The food itself was okay. Overall: no bells or whistles, if you've been travelling in India for a while it'll strike you as a pretty standard issue business hotel.
Tiny Rooms, tiny washrooms, with very basic facilities...my room had no windows... Not enough space to even keep your luggage properly... Good thing about the hotel is, the Vishwanath temple and Dashashwamedh Ghat are within a walking distance range from the hotel...
Not a great experience. The staff were friendly when we arrived and we had high hopes. There was no safe in the room and it was hard to get the staff to understand what we wanted. (In fairness with a little more travel experience in India we have found that most places don't have a safe and don't understand why we want one). Also no fridge but they said they could get us one - we didn't in fact bother. Also no complimentary water. All these things were supposed to be suppled as per Hotels.com information. We asked for water and they brought us some but then wanted the money for it. Only a matter of pence but the principal was wrong. When i went to the desk the original two staff were there but also another guy who was a superior i think. He muttered and grudgingly said ok complimentary. The breakfast and meal were mediocre. One strange thing was that we were going to take a day tour on offer at the hotel to see the sights of Varanasi. There were about 6 places to see but there were a couple we weren't that interested in and would have liked to spend longer at some of the others. When we asked about this and said we would still pay the full price we were told this was not possible. The one guy at the desk was again grouchy and muttering. Couldn't get any sense out of anyone. We eventually took the tour. Just the two of us in a car with a driver. He was very good and went along with our wishes and missed out some of the tour. Very enjoyable. All in all not a great experience. As we have travelled further in India i would still say this was not good.
I am amazed how come average TA rating is 4, and thats the reason I did a blunder, selected this property for my stay. Pros: Walking distance to Lord Kashi Vishwanath temple (by watch 7 min walking) and Dashwamedh Ghat which is another 3-4 min walking distance from Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Dashwamedh Ghat is the largest among several ghats and this is the Ghat where Ganga Aarti Takes place. Cons: 1. Dont go by the picture, Bed, mattress, curtains are age old. 2. No interior decoration. 3. There is not sufficient place to stand on either side of the bed, 4. Room size is too small. 5. This should not be called as hotel rather it should be called cheap lodge. 6. Too crowded, even your pick and drop is not possible unless its too early in the morning or its too late in the evening. Bath room are age old, my home bathroom is 10 times better than this place. So there is nothing which impresses to choose this hotel. And if you are three people staying in a room by paying extra, please be assured it would tough job for the poor guy who will be sleeping on the mattress placed on the floor. Some Tips for Varanasi: 1. Kashi Vishwanath temple closing time is 11:00 PM. Inside Kashi Vishwanath temple, there is Maa Annapurna temple and Shiv Sabha (108 Shiv lings) Must see place. People inside temple will ask money beware and be assertive not to pay anyone unless you want to do so. I Paid Rs 100 to a priest cum guide and Rs 100 to chief priest who was serving Lord Kashi Vishwanath, apart from I donated an x amount in donation box. 2. Ganga Aarti happens at Dashwamedh Ghat at 6:30 PM during winters and 7:00 PM during summers. 3. Must visit Banaras Hindu University campus 4. Ghat tourism - Boat rides: There are several ghats but some of the main ghats are between Mani Karnika Ghat and Harischandra Ghat. Dashwamedh Ghat is also in between. In all the Ghat bathing is allowed except Manikarnika and Harischandra, interestingly both the Ghats are used for Hindu funerals. I choose personal boat ride and I paid Rs 300.00 for three people which actually started from Rs 800.00. 5. Eateries: Kashi Chat Bhandar starts at 7:00 PM and Baba Lassi. Must visit both the place can be located through Google maps. 6. Silk shopping: Mehrotra Silk factory, place which is advised by lonely planet and lot of other forums, they are famous for authentic silk hand weaving materials. They offer best price though its expensive because its hand loom (hand weaving) and its non-negotiable. They take electronic payments as well. However there are other silk shops which offer cheaper price as well but those are not hand looms.
