Good at end Good at end

I stayed there for 3 days. I booked through Cleartip, 1st day they offered room at their sister concern hotel Ajay Guest House, where room was horrible, TV not working, even plug point not working. But after informing the matter to Cleartrip, next day they offered room at ELENA, whichwas brilliant room, big in size, with all modern amenities and the beauty was Ganges view. So the other 2 days were just brilliant. If you book at Elena, just check out whether they give room in Elena. If they offer room at Elena, its brilliant

excellent view of ganges , totally mesmorizing excellent view of ganges , totally mesmorizing

stayed here for 4 days. every morning it was so nice to wake up to the view of ganges , the call of har har mahadev from some one swimming in ganges was very peaceful to the ears. the roof top view was excellent. totally mesmorising , spiritual, and takes our soul to a different level. only draw back u have to take a long walk to reach to the hotel from city centre, because of the narrow lanes. but the view from the hotel is much much worthy. already have decided that whenever i m in banaras will be at hotel elena

Good Location, expensive for what you get Good Location, expensive for what you get

by bikingmom on March 21, 2013

We booked this hotel online, so the coast was a little less. The rooms at this price overlook the Ghats and you are steps away from the Ganges. The room was clean, bed comfortable, hot water showers, a/c, and flat screen TV. The bathroom was dated, staff in the restaurant was not that nice and one morning they did not even have coffee or any items on their menu. Seems they were getting ready for a big Indian tourist group and could not be bothered with us. Needless to say that was the last meal we had there. Elena Place is actually 3 different hotels and luckily we moved to Harmanamon for the rest of our stay for a lot less and much nicer staff. Yoga in the courtyard is very nice. Offered twice a day for 300 rupees.

Be careful with transfers in this hotel! Be careful with transfers in this hotel!

This my review on this hotel comes a little late, I've been staying at the Palace On Steps at the end of November 2012. We really like Varanasi, but had problems on the arrival and departure of Varanasi. In my trip in India never asked for transfer, only in Varanasi, because of the location the hotel. When landed in Varanasi were there waiting for us, but in that day was the Muslim Festival because of that most of the roads and streets of the city were closed. Obviously no one from the hotel was guilty but should have sent someone with more experience, it took us about 4 hours to get to the hotel and not tell you how we get there. For me the worst was when we left the hotel. In day before we asked a taxi. There we go out on time with other guests to take us to a higher street with traffic. After a while we were all waiting for taxis , the responsible person (unfortunately do not know his name) turns to a young boy and tells us to follow him. Off we went after him with the crowded streets (because that day was a Hindu Festival), walk, walk and taxi none. I started by asking to the boy where is the taxi, he don't spoke English, and we continued walking through the crowded streets. Meanwhile pass for us the other guests on their way to the airport in their taxis, and we nothing! I was very angry, because I did not have much time to catch the plane and upset about this situation, we decided to catch an Auto Rickshaw. As there was a lot of traffic and many people along the road, the autorickshaw hardly walked. Suddenly the boy appears and grab our luggage and takes the luggage to the taxi that had finally appeared. I can only speak well of the boy, because we never gave up and was in stress, and i dont understand why they treated us so bad! The driver of the taxi, told us he had only called him 15 minutes ago! How can we trust in this hotel!! In my opinion the hotel is not bad, they gave us a renovated room with a beautiful view of the Ganges and the food was good! But do not believe on transfers in this hotel!

Wonderful surprise! Wonderful surprise!

We have been stayed in hotel Elena only for 3 days ...But i wish they could have been more! The room was brand new, arranged with a very good taste and extremely clean. I saw three different room, all of them were different nad very special in their own way.We had a private balcony on the Ganga, the best balcony I never had even if I have been in Varanasi for several times. The price is very well proportioned to the service you get. I was travelling with my parents that are a bit old (74 and 72) and the stuff did all what was in their possibilities to make our stay as good as possible and they really manage to do it!!!!! We did not take the guidance of Sunil, the hotel' boy for the simple reason that we already know Varanasi quite well but i am quate sure he is a very good guide and if you go for the first time is worthy to have his help. Another positive thing that i really appreciated is that they did not insisted at all in proposing us boat ride , silk factories etc. I really raccomend this place
