We had a very pleasant arrival to this hotel, greeted with cold drinks and a welcome party. They upgraded our room from the basic to superior however reading other reviews Im not sure if they do this for everyone? However room was nice, small but clean enough, bed very comfortable but pillows were huge and very firm - I found it hard to sleep on them, and I am not a fussy sleeper, pillows would never usually bug me. Bathroom was also clean but full of mosquitos, I think this is just part of Varanasi though and not just the hotel, we were told if we wanted to take a hot shower to let reception know 5-10 mins prior, we did this each time and continued to wait before each shower but the water never warmed up was always very cold. Questionable stains on the towels and a few stray hairs on them too, luckily we had towels in our bags as we had been travelling a while and just used them. Aircon in room not turned on however ceiling fan worked extremely well, left it on 2 when in the room or was too cold! Location was good, walking distance to some good restaurants highly rated on trip advisor and just a few minutes walk to view the Ganges. Food in the restaurant was good and not overly priced. The staff were the best part about this hotel very friendly and accommodating, if youre on a strict budget and dont want a hostel plus can handle a cold shower then this was overall not too bad for the price we paid.
Ps. Wifi does not work very well, and power drops out quite regularly - but again I think this is just what varansi is all about.
So this is a mid-ranged Inn- a 10 min walk to the Assi Ghat (morning Aarti) but about a 30min walk from Dashashwamedh Ghat( Evening Aarti). The option in food is limited as its vegetarian - the only solace was Eggs for breakfast. Cleanliness and hygiene are not great but it seems better than the establishments around. I was made to stay in a room for 1 night wherein the Air Conditioning had not been installed. After complaining about the same they requested for me to stay there for a night as they were full up and that they would change me to a smaller airconditioned room the next day. Thereafter the only issue was the construction road noise at night and the monkeys if you leave any window open- which they seem helpless to do anything about. Overall decent New Rooms- The only tip to keep in mind is that there is NO LIFT so in case you are not comfortable climbing up 3 stories for ll your meals/accessing your room- choose another Lodge. The Inn's owner (Ravi) is the only one keeping the show on the road. I advise speaking to him instead of wasting your time talking to non decisive staff at the Inn.
We stayed at this hotel for one night and got a free upgrade to their executive room which was super nice. You can easily reach everything by foot. The street is couple of meters away so you dont hear any of the traffic passing by.
Cant beat the value for the price here! Would recommend staying.
The staff contacted us beforehand to organize a hassle free pickup and furthermore arranged a morning boat tour right away.
Complimentary bottles of drinking water in the room would be nice, since its just 20 rupees and a nice gesture to the guests.
Nice hotel and well located - short walk to the Ghats. Staff were helpful.
Bed is very comfortable and the room and hotel is clean. Good reasonably priced food in the Resturant.
We were upgraded at no extra charge to a heritage room which was spacious and well appointed.
This hotel was booked for us. It is very clean and in an easily-accessible location for the ghats and other sight-seeing. The breakfast is basic, but serves a purpose. It has reliable WiFi and the staff are helpful.
