Wasn't the greatest Wasn't the greatest

by Matt G on September 22, 2016

Shower barely worked. Bathroom didn't smell nice at all. The desk staff were unhelpful and kept trying to make money out of us. Also it is miles out of the main town so its an extra cost getting tuk tuks or taxis everywhere, which also are trying to scam you at every opportunity. The food in the restaurant was ok. Breakfast wasn't actually bad though and we got it included in the deal. If i were you though, I'd go somewhere else...

Great hotel Great hotel

I stayed for three days the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are clean and tidy and the food is great and room service is very quick, the only down side is the food is a bit expensive, I would highly recommend this hotel when you stay in Varanasi,

We check in to Hotel New Temple Town on April 2016. It was Navaratri time and so it happened to be one of the best times to visit the Holy City of India. I took my old parents with me along with my wife and kid. Certainly, hygiene and comfort were my first preference. I preferred locating in a hotel where the visiting spots were near to the stay so that the distance travelled to visit places were short. Hotel New Temple Town sufficed to all my requirements very nicely. First of all, the staffs were really courteous and attended to every small need at any point of day or night. Second, rooms were really nice and spacious; bathrooms were clean and hygienic perfect to what I wanted. Third, room service was on time the one thing I sought after for my old parents who couldnt take stairs to dining room always. Fourth, food was tasty, sumptuous and filling! Fifth, the location of the hotel was so placed that availing of cab or auto-rickshaws were damn easy. Nice stay indeed. Navratri surely couldnt have been much better than this...

Unpleasant stay Unpleasant stay

by Chase E on May 3, 2016

The first impression was poor, unfriendly desk staff. Rooms are dark and dingy, location is on the edge of town so there is no walking to get anywhere, rickshaw or taxi is a must. After first night we were basically demanded to checkout and switch hotels (although we paid for 2 nights via Delhi travel agent) they called our room 3 times asking and came to our door asking when we're checking out multiple times when we assured them, with proof of voucher we had two nights stay. The front desk staff seem to speak fine English until of course they do not want to help you and act like they do not understand. We tried the restaurant and my chicken dish came out still very pink, thankfully I noticed and sent it back. The wifi is incredibly bad I asked several times for the other password that shows up on wifi menu but they refused and said the one for guests works fine so I showed them in person how any page simply would not load, but they could not care less. We also needed change for a large bill, but they refused unless we bought something even though they offer currency exchange (which they offer every time you walk in the lobby,) I feel bad for anyone who stays here, would not recommend.

very uncomfortable and badly maintained hotel very uncomfortable and badly maintained hotel

Claustrophobic small rooms, with no windows for air circulation, The rooms lacking in amenities and cleanliness- sheets not changed even once during our stay of 3 days. The bathroom was not only smelly but the flush too was leaking. Inspite of repeated calls and visits by the staff, the problem could not be solved. The only lift in the hotel had also broken down suddenly for a day. Luckily we were in the first floor. The food served in the restaurant as well as the complementary breakwfast were just mediacore. The hotel is okay if you are on a religious trip to Kashi and out throughout the day.
