Pest inside the room all over the place. Tiolets do not even have a soap holder. No hot water in the shaower thru-oout our stay for the entire 4 days. Called the front desk on non-availability of hot water in the shower for 3 consecutive days nothing improved

PINAKI from Varanasi, India recommends this hotel Posted:  Room Quality: 1/5 Service Quality: 3/5 Dining Quality: 2/5 Cleanliness: 1/5

We had booked the hotel on 8th Jul’11 for stay from 24th to 27th Jul’11. The experience from the time we reported at the front desk to the end of our stay was extremely disappointing, frustrating and exasperating, given the huge gap between what was claimed to be amenities and facilities available in the hotel and what was actually available. This was compounded by the lack of rooms being fully equipped and fitted with basic requirements and complete lack of hygienic conditions, including dirty linens and insect infested rooms. A personal meeting with the General Manager, Mr. Rai solicited the view that the Hotel isn’t any star accredited and representation on any website is misleading. He was not in a position to assist as the Hotel requires time to change things around and is undergoing renovation. While a more detail account is given below but in summary, stay at this place at your risk and peril with the only advantage being the proximity to the temple and a helpful staff, who aren’t equipped to address the issues and concerns. • We arrived well past 1 pm on 24th and were allotted room 316 o But when we reached our room, the hotel staff accompanying us realized that it was occupied. Immediately they allotted us room 317 and given this was the season of heat and humidity, both the AC and the fan were put to use. o Within 5 minutes, the fan, which incidentally was making more noise that all the combined vehicular traffic outside came to a grinding halt. o The in-house electrician after due examination declared that the fan needs to be replaced and that will require sometime. o We were then moved to room 322 which incidentally was unoccupied and fan working but with no telephone facility. Attempt to connect a phone from another room failed. o Obviously with an hour past and no sign of our ‘Deluxe room’, we were visibly frustrated. We were informed by the staff that the hotel’s modus operandi is to manage the room with what is available and all rooms are not outfitted with everything. o We eventually moved into room no. 327 which through our stay had problem with the AC as with each cycle of load shedding and generator set being put on, the AC main switch that is located somewhere outside, tripped and then on complain, it would be activated. Needless to mention, we had to do without AC during the night as there were hardly any attendance to our calls during the night. • There are numerous false claims on the website about the facilities available in the hotel. These are: o No minibar – only a dilapidated mini fridge with re-filled bottles. o Having been checked into four different “Deluxe” rooms, we didn’t see any hairdryer. o There is no roof top swimming pool – at least there was no access to roof top given all access beyond 3rd floor is sealed due to renovation work. o There was no running hot water – we had to boil water in the tea making pot to get hot water. The explanation give was that the solar panels were destroyed by the destructive monkeys. o There was only one ill lit and ill equipped restaurant – not two as claimed on the website. o The rooms are insect infested and they generally crawl all over the floors. The mosquito infestation was also quite high and we had to purchase mosquito repellent as nothing was provided by the hotel. • The highlight of our visit was a personal visit to the Hotel’s GM, one Mr. Shashi Kant Rai. I had a half an hour chat with him and pinpointed the above issues but he expressed his helplessness in trying to address these issues as there are problems with the hotel that will need time to overcome. He also specifically mentioned that the Hotel is not three star accredited. In fact, he mentioned that the hotel didn’t have any star rating what-so-ever and any mention on any website was not correct.

Family Celebration Family Celebration

Had arranged the banquet for celebrating my sons Mundan ceremony. Well the party did not start on the right note, due to rains on previous night the false ceiling at hotel entrance collapsed and there was dirt from maintenance work all over just at the time of the party. However the hotel manager Mr. Pinku immediately ensured that a neat coverup work is done and the entire place cleaned within 30 minutes. The decoration, food and children's events were nicely organized by the hotel. The limelight was stolen by the chat (Indian snacks) counter and the DJ. Our all, except for the shocking start the evening was wonderfully organized and was immensely enjoyed by family and friends

Bad staff, bad restaurant and bad lift Bad staff, bad restaurant and bad lift

by Debopam_banerjee on November 2, 2015

We were a group of 17 people. What surprised me at the first was that our bookings were confirmed on and the hotel said that they don't accept bookings from When I called up, they said that my booking was confirmed. When we reached there, they guy at the reception was asking us for the confirmation of our online bookings, saying that they have no records of the bookings and on being pressed for a few minutes, everything came up. says they have paid WiFi in the rooms. The hotel said they don't have it. They said they have free Wifi in front of the Restaurant. When I was checking it, I couldn't connect and I didn;t get any help from them. They wanted me to use the WiFi sitting in front of the stairs, saying that's the only place it would work. They did not have towels and toiletries in several of our rooms and were least bothered with it. Also, the hotel staff didn't care as to what's happening. It's supposedly the hotel of a local Minister and thus they do not give a damn about guests. They even refused to provide bills at the time of check out, first saying their receipt books are exhausted. Then, they checked the computer and calculated the tariff and everything and bluntly said the computer is not working, so they can't take out a receipt and print it. Hilariously idiotic!!!
