Very welcoming family! Lovely to be able to use the kitchen whenever we wanted to. Room was spacious and excellent for the price we paid. Things to be aware of: -It is a guest house so there are kids running around but this did not bother us at all and there was never noise in the night. -we were in Varanasi at the coldest time of the year and the room was very cold. Fine at night as we had lots of blankets. -hot water is not that hot.
Had a friend recommend this place. Overall a nice experience for 2 nights stay. No-frills, you get what you pay for. Nice clean room, would stay again. Positives: - Close to Assi ghat, walking distance to many other things - I had a big room with a huge double bed that was nice and clean - The owner Deepak is lovely, he showed me around the area, took me on his scooter. He also has a boat that I went on. He's very helpful and makes the place worth staying at. - There is a communal kitchen that you can use with basic equipment. - For me the best part is that it is right opposite the Vegan & Raw restaurant haha! - Hot water shower and wifi, though the wifi was a little slow, don't think I could manage work with it long term. Slightly less positive: - There was a family with kids staying there and the place isn't sound-proofed at all, so it was very noisy. - The bathroom could have been cleaner, but it's fairly standard if you're used to roughing it a little in India. - Have to pay with cash, which is a little uncomfortable given the situation in India now
A really nice budget accommodation where the owners have made an effort to give it atmosphere and there is much more than just a bed, I can understand why people stay here for a long time because of this, a reasonably good equipped kitchen, clean and bright
15/12/2014 to 21/12/2014 Slightly overpriced for what it is. We booked a room with en-suite and a/c for Rs14,000 generally clean but slightly worn, probably more in the Rs8,000 to 10,000 range. Shared kitchen available for simple meals although dont expect to cook too much as the facilities are limited and utensils well worn. The main problem with Khushi is the noise level. The families that live downstairs like to shout a lot and all rooms open onto a shared dining room/common room so there can be a lot of noise generated by other guests. After what looks like a generally negative review I would still recommend this guest house, the owners are very nice and helpful and it is well located for the southern end of the ghats WiFi worked well in our room although other guests did appear to have to sit very near to the router (in the common room) to get a good signal. Our room had a TV which we werent able to get to work. Recommended.
Excellent location, near the river and the ancient Lolarka Kund. Family-run, and constantly being kept clean. I especially appreciated the well set-up kitchen for the use of the guests (stove, pots, sink, refrigerator, etc.), and the bright and airy dining/relaxing space.
