the hotel is in a great place and the view from there is beautiful. the rooms are also great.
however, the owner reassured us that the food eaten there would be safe (and the cleanest in the city), and after I exclusively ate there for two days I developed a nasty intestinal flu that pinned me to bed for two days straight. I wouldn't trust the food there, especially the lassi.

Cockroaches, Scams, and Danger: The Worst Hotel Experience Ever!!!
Where do I even begin? This so-called "hotel" was an absolute disaster from start to finish.
Infested with Cockroaches: Within seconds of entering our room we saw a cockroach crawl from under the bed, which is utterly inexcusable and clearly one of many. It was disgusting and a clear sign that hygiene and basic cleanliness are not priorities here.
No Privacy, No Peace: The room we were given was essentially in the lobby. Forget about privacy or comfort’it felt like we were on display for every passerby. Further, on the street side of the room, a group of men were shouting around a bonfire. It felt extremely unsafe.
Horrifying Airport Transfer: The taxi arranged by the hotel was appalling. We were thrown out into the middle of a noisy street at night with no explanation, leaving us terrified on our first night in India. It was disorganized, unsafe, and downright negligent.
Intimidating and Invasive Staff: The owner and his staff were not only unprofessional but also intimidating. They demanded unnecessary personal details, such as our home address, which felt invasive and completely inappropriate and demanded full payment for our whole stay on the spot.
The Location: The area surrounding the hotel is a nightmare. It’s filthy, litter-strewn, and unhygienic with human and animal faeces abound. On top of that, the hotel is inaccessible by car. Any taxi you take has to drop you off 10-15 minutes walk away, forcing you to haul your luggage through an unsafe, sketchy neighbourhood.
To make matters worse, after reading other TripAdvisor reviews, I’ve learned that the owner’s modus operandi is to deliberately put guests in the awful ground floor room in which we were placed, in order to upsell them later. This scammy behaviour is despicable but sadly not surprising after our experience.
The glowing reviews for this place are baffling and frankly suspicious. It’s hard not to suspect foul play, like fake reviews being used to mislead travellers.
This is, without a doubt, the worst accommodation I’ve ever experienced. Save yourself the stress, discomfort, and potential danger of staying here.

We came for five nights stay , unfortunately we found out that one of the workers stole our Money (550 euro ) from our luggage in our locked room, we went to report to the hotel owner and to the manager , they haven’t done a thing, they told us they will investigate it but nothing happened. When we asked them upon leaving to report the police , they said they will, coming back we checked with them , they replied they found the worker who stolen the money but didn’t want to return us or take any responsibility, they offer additional of 8% discount for our next stay.
I have been more then 20 times to India, never been treated like that and never felt unsafe with staff in the room .
Avoid this place!!!!!!!!

I stayed at this old property converted into a guest house , and it had its pros and cons.
*Pros:
1. The view of the Ganga from the room and terrace is breathtaking. The property is connected to a ghat with boating facilities, although these aren't available during high tides.
2. Some staff members provided commendable service.
3. The owner/manager is soft-spoken and approachable.
*Cons:
1. Reaching the property requires a 7-8 minute walk down a narrow, dark lane with no vehicle access, which feels risky at night due to street dogs, horses, and intoxicated individuals.
2. The food is average for the price, with complimentary breakfasts at cheaper hotels often being better.
3. There’s no security guard, and the main door closes at 10:30 PM. If you return late, you might have to knock for 15 minutes to be let in, and the weird staff even questioned our lateness, which felt intrusive.(Its not a hostel and we are paying a bomb for each night!)
4. There’s no lift to the top floor, but this was clearly stated and didn’t bother me much.
5. The government agent affiliated with the property quoted sightseeing prices three times higher than what you’d find elsewhere, so we chose not to use his services.
Overall, at a price point of 8,500 INR per night, I wouldn’t recommend this property unless you specifically want a river view. I've stayed at much better places for the same price, even outside India.

The owner literally said to me ’You act too smart, Don’t ever come back here’ while showing the pictures of the room rather than showing me in actual as I was literally there. I’m not furious just disappointed that the owner who is almost 70 year old cares and fixated only into extorting money whiter comes to his hotel.
