The dorms are economical and beautiful with provisions of leisure activities. The private rooms are small, poor lighting, dirty linen, no cupboards, hot geyser not working etc. Geyser was fixed in evening but shower dint work next day. No buckets to take shower. The blankets were vintage. They were not cosy and caused lot of itching due to rough texture. What more it was single blanket. It's a total waste of money and not recommended. They were overcharging for all services. I am not a foreigner to be fooled. I would had much better deal in the price I paid. 2 stars only for location.
This is my first time staying at a Hostel and I'm over 40 years... I recommend this hostel for people any age! At least the room with 6 beds. It has 3 bunk beds and I got one on the lower level!! A spacious and clean bathroom all to ourselves with hot water and an Air Conditioner! The blankets are thin, but you get to set the temperature! The toura are magnifiscent and the price a deal in its kind, I learned, laughed and made new friends all at the same time! The breakfast was delicious and all you can eat! (Eggs, breads, some vegetables, tea, some fruits, etc). There are good rules for community living and this sets the tone for a respectful environment. I met people from around the world: Spain, Argentina, Chile, England, India, Japan, Canada, Portugal... etc!! What can I say... I even got sick from eating street food and the new friends and staff took really good care of me by bringing me water, lemons and the second day cookin some healthy food for me! The staff is very kind and helpful! Even if you decide not to stay here, make sure to ask for Anil as a tour guide!!
Having spent 3 nights here, I had a great stay. I did the temple, markets and morning boat tour and would recommend all of them. At 200rs each they were good value and an easy option having just gotten off a 20hours train ride. I was in the 6 person dorm on the ground floor with AC, it was really quiet and away from the common areas. There are 3 common areas which creates a good vibe it's really easy to meet people but just as easy to keep to yourself. Laundry service fast too.
Had a great time at Stops Hostel, very hospitable owners and staff, lots of activities throughout the day (affordable tours, bar nights etc) We loved the food tour. Great lounge areas where you could relax throughout the day and meet other travelers. Pretty central location, felt very safe. We stayed in an 8 bed dorm and it was really quiet at night. Good breakfast, great chai! Wish we had more time to stay. Would definitely stay here again.
Well worth the price. Relatively clean enough for a hostel In India. Strange air conditioning that has the thermostat kicking in and out. Provides drinking water you can fill and saves a lot of $. Good wifi and hostel managers go out of the way to help! Highly recommended!
