Bitter Sweet experience Bitter Sweet experience

by Govind K on February 5, 2017

The hotel location is good and everything in varkala can be explored by walking along the cliff road. We found this only hotel which has a pool facing see in the area. The pool is small and shallow but good for spending time with kids. In case you do not plan to use pool you may find other hotel with similar rooms along the cliff road at better price. Hotel charges you for water bottles (more than MRP) even after high on tariffs. The rooms were good but bathrooms were very basic. In one of the night, we faced sound disturbance from nearby bar/shack. In case you need pin drop silence for sleeping better, do request not to give you rooms at the hotel side adjoining the shacks. We stayed at the property for 3 nights. At the first night, the AC was not working properly depsite checking in late. I got a new room next day and a small discount (15% on 1 night rent) for the faulty AC for the day one (after bit of angry words). Despite all the complaints, I feel the hotel is good if you plan to stay at a decent place in varkala. The breakfast was good and the staff at the restaurant were very good. The location is definitely better than other high rated property in Varkala.

The resort is cute with cosy rooms and excellent service. The rooms are very comfortable, ours had a breathtaking view of the Arabian sea. The pool is small, but clean and we always found a free sun bed. Breakfast was good, but the choices were limited. Hard to beat the above stated amenities at such an attractive price point!

Super luxurious, decadent stay! Super luxurious, decadent stay!

This place has absolutely all you need. The cottages have everything inside, it right on the beach and there's even a pool (which is rare, we noticed). It's close to a bit quieter beach in Varkala ('black beach') in case you want to avoid the crowds on the main beach. From the hotel you can directly enter the boulevard of Varkala, which is basically the main attraction, with all the restaurants and shops. Friendly staff and everything. Would definitely recommend.

Super location with a stunning view at breakfast time Super location with a stunning view at breakfast time

All the communal areas in the hotel are maintained to a good standard and the pool is clean and refreshing. Breakfast was good - lots of variety and the view out over the sea is stunning. The reason I'm giving an average rather than a very good is because of the outlook of our room; when we booked we were aware that the standard rooms were across the road, slightly separate from the main body of the hotel. The room itself was basic but very clean but unfortunately it was right at the back and looked out over some wasteland with unsightly rubbish which did rather spoil the experience of sitting on the veranda. So if you are booking a standard room - ask for one near the Ayurvedic Spa.

Lovely hotel in great location for a short stay. Lovely hotel in great location for a short stay.

A lovely small hotel situated near the end of the north cliff, varkala, with a stunning view over the Arabian Sea. The pool is small but clean with a few sun beds situated near the pool. The nearest beach is only a 5 minute walk away. Rooms are in individual "huts" and are very clean and nicely furnished but are quite small. We only stayed for one night so this wasn't a problem but had we been staying for a longer period with more luggage the room may have felt a bit tight. Although there was a table and chairs outside our "hut", this was shared with the hut next door so no privacy. Breakfast was buffet style self service with a few Indian and European options to choose from.

Demo Trip All cottages have sea view, if you take it literally, though some are closer to the sea than others.

by Nikki_AMS on January 23, 2017

Demo Trip As per my comment above if booking a standard room ask for one nearer the ayurvedic spa; and avoid room 205.
