First of all the room was booked about 15 days in advance at Seagate and confirmation was given to us until 1 day before our departure, but all of a sudden the hotel informed us that they can not provide accomodation in the hotel and suggested to stay at their other hotel PICNIC, which had a very bad room left me and my family members furious. I am really shocked at the change in our boarding, what we wanted we did not get. PICNIC hotel tariff is really low and they do not have room service, nor any facilitites, 14 inch TV with only Tamil channels to view, Main door was shabby and does not close by itself, Shower does not work in the bathroom, buckets were dirty.
this time the room allotted to me was not clean and my complaint no actions from their side
We the cutomers visiting a hotel and the experience turned to be horrible. 2)Rooms, Linen, towels, A/C, TV, especially Toilet are pathetic. 3)Food served in room are the most unhygenic and horrible. Plates seems to be never washed but wiped after a use. 4)Room Staff are casual laborers dressed up in some one elses uniform. 5)Advice to other Travellers--Never Book a Hotel unless some one known to you have seen the stayed there. The status of the room, rates , negotiations etc can be seen directly from net by our self.
space of the room is less as I stayed in deleux A/C . Food is good. Staff is supportive and good. Need to reduce the rent or give more facility. Over all good .
Seagate is an economy stay in Velankanny. Good view to the church. Its very clean. Only bad thing is the restaurant at ground floor. Its pathetic in service and high in cost. Food is not cooked well.

It was very nice & comfortable to stay in Hotel Seagate,Velankanni with my family. Stayed in Standard double occupancy A/c room, very clean and spacious for two adult and 1 child. Complimentary breakfast was too good, we had lunch and dinner there itself, which was again awesome. .. Staffs were very cooperative and friendly. Nice place for family to stay comfortably and safe in velankanni.
Nice place for a family, spacious room, good food overall, friendly staff. They need to improve the lobby area though. Didn't charge me for an extra bed which was quite surprising. We will definitely visit again.
Many times i came to velankanni with my family, friends. We always prefer this hotel for the comfortable stay. No need to go for star hotels and no need spend your money there. You can get any services like a star hotels here. All amenities are good and proper maintaining of room is up to the mark.we really enjoyed our stay. Excellent swimming pool is the highlight of this hotel. Staffs are neat and ready to serve us 24 hours. Only the restaurant food taste could be better. Overall a star performer hotel. Nice keep it up
Since my last visit few years back, i can see the place is rundown and poorly maintained. The only advantage is it's close to the shrine. Food quality drops and not really happy with the visit. Will look out for another place to stay in future.
Due to really bad wifi in most places in India this was submitted in London as so busy since holiday and is for our dinner on the 7/12/16. Edited and submitted 9/2. Hopefully still relevant. We three British guys had tried most of the other options and this one remained, despite being dark and empty the late evening before. We tried again at 20:40 on a Wednesday evening. The passing of the local senior minister on Sunday, with a funeral on Monday had resulted in many restaurants closing till Tuesday. They all seemed to be open this Wednesday, along with the shops and markets (where restaurants he their raw materials). We could have gone again to the posh Clinton Inn restaurant but thought we would give the 'Family Restaurant' a try. We tentatively opened the side door to find a comfortable restaurant with families eating happily and quietly. We chose a table in the main room and looked through the menus. Certainly cheaper than Clinton Inn. No alcohol offered as in the whole town. No tea either as too early! No internet either (yet again, none found in the whole town, although told about an internet shop somewhere). We ordered a mix of curries and Chinese, asking the English speaking head waiter about the options available. I ordered a fish curry, my friends a Chilli Paneer and Scezwan/Singapore Egg fried rice and a (boneless at extra 80) Chicken Masala. The Penner and rice came quite quickly and I thought mine would come in time. My friend realised he had made a mistake choosing his chicken as it was not like a masala he was used to ( I put it down to regional david differences and anglicisation of curries in general). I ended up eating most of his tasty curry (regardless of what it was called!). Just as well as my fish never arrived! As I was fed well in effect I did not push it. As long as it was not on the bill. The attentive junior waiter was hovering around making sure our plates were cleared away, as they were whilst I was still eating my friend's food. Fairly typical out here! We asked for the bill and it was refreshingly cheap half of Clinton Inn's opposite, although a meal short). We left happy after a peaceful meal in nice surroundings (no screaming spoilt children or their games devices as in the previous evening's meal).
