Though we stayed at a different hotel, came down to Regency Sameera for lunch one day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Having experienced GRT quality and standard at other places, we have great expectations and were not let down. Staff were very friendly and went out of the way to accommodate our requests. It was a refreshing experience when compared to other places in Vellore. Way to go...
I stayed here with my partner for 3 nights when we came to Vellore for a conference at VIT university. The property is good and the staff friendly. We had an issue with the shower area getting clogged though and it takes ages for the water to drain when you shower. A tad disgusting for me. Something I also found strange is that when you check in you are expected to give a copy of your Visa to the check in staff, apart from your passport. I have traveled to India many times and stayed at many places and never have I been asked to produce a copy of my Visa. I explained that this is not something I've had to do ever in India and asked why it was different here, to which i was not given a proper answer but just said that one of the largest police stations are in Vellore and it was a requirement. Visa is something related to emigration and immigration and found it strange that a hotel should ask for these documents.
Awesome service and VFM! Recommend this place for a great eat and drink! Good food, all cuisines, great buffet and a great feel good factor! Great stewards like Raja and Arul make it a great place for a stopover anytime!
We had an opportunity to spend a day at this hotel during our recent trip to Vellore. What impressed me the most was the friendly and courteous staff at the front desk. I was soon to discover that this quality is very much in evidence across all staff members in this hotel.
The room was very comfortable and well furnished, just about big enough for a couple. It had all the required trappings you can expect in a well appointed hotel. A comfy mattress, free wifi with acceptable bandwidth, kettle with coffee / tea, room service option and a snack bar with reasonably priced items - all of these good things came along withe room. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of Continental and South Indian items. Again I would like to call out the staff in the restaurant who delighted us with their courtesy and service.
The only complaint I had was disturbing noise from the corridor from the cleaning crew who chose the afternoon when we were trying to get some rest to complete their activity.
The hotel is located just off the Chennai highway. You will need to take the Katpadi exit on the highway. The hotel has a basement parking if you happen to come in your own car.
It is ideally located if you have work which needs you to visit the VIT campus or CMC Hospital. They both are at about 10 minutes drive from the hotel.
This was my first time at GRT vellore, Amazing stay, Wanted to explore the property from a long time, but never really got a chance, finally i got to stay there but for a short while, we had a late check-in say around 11 o clock, the guy at the reception was very cordial, when we spoke over the phone to book our rooms, he asked us to come over he would have it for us. So everything was done fast and it was a cake walk during the check-in, we had a early morning wedding to attend, so they helped us sort out early. We tried there breakfast spread too, i must say they have one of the best spreads in vellore, never expected this quality, it felt close to the taj groups, was really happy. They had a mix of indian, continental, veg and non veg, live dosa and omlette counter, A huge spread and they literally spoiled me with choices.
Thank you for your hospitality, You guys were great and truly lived up to your reputation, Will come back for sure.
