First Bad experience in Visakhapatnam First Bad experience in Visakhapatnam

by Jerome R on August 14, 2016

Here's a little summary of our stay. We were in Visakhapatnam for 10 days and tested around 6 different hotels in this category. This was our worst stay, here's why: I've seen a good offer on the hotels homepage attracting guests with 1.650Rs incl. taxes and breakfast. When we arrived and after a long discussion due to the fact that hotel manager suggested me to lying regarding this fact, we were told that this offer was a mistake and that we have to pay 2.000Rs plus taxes. In order to find a solution they were so nice and offered us the tax which was 5%. We were too tired to find an other hotel, but I won't to that again. The room is simple and unclean for a 3star house, even in India. Dirty bed, broken bath room, poor wifi and tv signal and in addition to that the room was prepared for single person not for double occupation (1 towel, 1 pillow etc.) - this could happen, but it's just the sum of all that bad things. Finally service was very bad, sorry to say. We ordered dinner in our room from the menu. They told us that prices are not correct, they changed and are higher now and that I should prepay the food because they have to search it from restaurant. This was told us by a non English speaking guy - you can surely imagine the uneasy discussion. The food was poor in terms of taste and preparation. Didn't know that a tomato salad is a tomato cut in little pieces without any addition. No salt no pepper , nothing to add in the room. The complimentary breakfast was the same procedure, what they brought was kind of little bad soup, without furniture , no coffee or tea, nothing and once again it was just for one person. In total I suggest you to miss this hotel, and pay a bit more (100-200Rs) to get a high quality hotel, it's possible in Visakhapatnam. The total of mistakes and poor service in addition to attitude of hotel management towards guests is just not acceptable. Believe me as a experienced hotel guest all over the world. Otherwise enjoy Visakhapatnam , it's a great city !

located near Vuda park, this hotel is a new one with very clean and spacious rooms for 1N or 2N stay. I do not think there are fooding options available here, but you will get some food stores outside, and can take parcel from them.

Very impressive rooms at this guesthouse Very impressive rooms at this guesthouse

by TONY S on December 25, 2015

This guesthouse is located in the southern region of Visakhapatnam, though not really close to the beaches (I'm guessing these are 1 to 2km away). The guesthouse seems to be quite new. The Reception is located just beyond the undercover car park, on the left. I found the 2 guys at the desk helpful and efficient. I was assigned a room on the first floor. First impressions were of a bright, spacious room. There was a desk and large mirror, long bench space for placing both luggage and items in one's luggage, a spacious wardrobe with coat hangers, a wall-mounted television, and really excellent strong lighting, making reading very easy (and how often can you say that?). There were numerous power sockets for recharging electronic devices . Most importantly, there was what appeared to be an excellent bed, and this certainly proved to be the case when I went to bed that night; this was as good a bed and mattress as any I had encountered on this trip to India. The same standards were maintained in the bathroom. There was a large basin, including hot water from the basin tap, the really excellent shower has a glass screen thus preventing water from going everywhere, the water for the shower can be as hot or as cool as you want it, and the toilet flushed efficiently. There was both a fan and a/c in the room. The a/c was one of the quietest I have encountered: it was effective and almost silent. I requested the WiFi number at Reception, and this worked immediately, and came free of charge. There were just a couple of odd features about this guesthouse. Why only one sheet on the bed? For health, if no other reason, it surely makes sense to provide two sheets, both of which can be changed with each change of occupancy of the room. I think you can be fairly sure the blanket doesn't get washed after each guest has stayed. So, on arrival, check that there are two sheets on your bed, and request a second if there is only one. The linien supply room is adjacent to the Reception office. It would be good if Management provided a basic information sheet in each room detailing things like how to order breakfast (it is brought to your room, from an outside source), and where to go for an evening meal. I notice in one of the other reviews for this guesthouse that mention is made of a menu being in the room. Not so in my room, so again ask, if you want to eat at the guesthouse. I enquired about where I could get an evening meal, and 'My Restaurant' - a restaurant located about 500m close to the corner with the Main road - was recommended. This proved to be a very good recommendation. I gather lunch is also served here. The tariff at the guesthouse is very modest for what you get, and makes it excellent value. It would be interesting to know where the guesthouse draws its clientele, as there doesn't appear to be anything obvious nearby. It's too far from the beach, if you are a holiday-maker. Perhaps business people with connectiobns on or near the very busy main road would appreciate a quiet location. So, a good choice, if the location suits you.
