The resort is beautiful, we took a trip there in June and the weather was quite nice at the time. We went for the Rock House, which was absolutely perfect for this stay. The property owners are quite good to talk to and helped through the 3 days' stay. Pool is a little small I would say, would have liked it to be bigger. Food deserves a special mention - every meal was prepared and served with a whole lot of warmth and tasted amazing! Great Place to Stay! Loved it.
We visited off season to marmalade springs and had v nice rime staying.special mention to hospitality of the staff , good home cooked meals, esp the chicken curry.you have to park the car and then they will take you upto the resort in a 4 wheel drive and the climb was exciting and awsome.my son enjoyed seeing the goose and the duck in the resort.and we had a v good time in the pool.all in all , its a great place to visit and relax along with having some real good food
I chose to stay in a Tree House at Marmalade Springs which had the most spectacular view. Located amidst coffee plantations it was heart warming to listen to the birds chirping. Mr. Sunil, the manager and his team took a good care of us. I was very impressed at how they had paid close attention to our likes and took the effort to make our stay very comfortable. It is an apt place to relax the nature away from the race of the world. Enjoyed the stay and loved the experience.
As I researched about Wayanad, it's beauty and nature is what pulled me closer to choosing it as my next destination. Living fast paced in the city will leave you craving for some peace and quiet and while I was looking for places to stay on booking.com; I stumbled upon Marmalade Springs. It's scenic pictures and it's cottages pleased me, but what pleased me the most was the Tree house & Rock house that's available there. I was keen on booking the Tree house because of its height. unfortunately as it wasn't available; Mr. Jo ensured me that the Rock house was as high as the Tree house. And as geology is one of my husband's interests; I was certain that this would be the ideal place. Also to mention, my husband had no idea about my reservations at Marmalade, it was a surprise, all he had to do was travel with me and pay for it. :)
Our trip to Wayanad was exhausting as we were sleepless. When we reached Kalpetta; our cab driver told us that a Jeep would take us up to the resort, and as we were tired already and traveling up the hill was flustered yet appealing decision we had to make. Hence, we got into the Jeep with our two heavy luggages and made our way up. As we got closer to the resort, the steeper the climb got; however my optimistic self kept it together. The moment we reached and landed our eyes on the Rock house, we were mesmerized by not just its magnificence but also by the beauty the rest of the resort had to it. We were greeted by Mr. Sunil; the manager there, he is one was the nicest people we had met, he was very welcoming and so was the rest of the staff there. My husband was awed by the house and the view. The food was great, home-made. As we had booked for the honeymoon package we received a cake, flowered bed and a candle light dinner by the a beautiful bonfire.
We will definitely return back here as this is one of those things we would never get tired of experiencing.
Overall, worth it.
Value for money
We spent six nights at Marmalade springs and had absolutely no complaints.
It is a beautiful property with well designed cottages and a great line of staff members.
Joe as the host(owner), Mr. Sunil the manager, Ashraf the resort driver, Prajyosh and Seval taking care of all our basic necessities.
We had 12 meals at the resort and enjoyed each one of them, including the vegetarian menu. The chef is really good with his chicken recipes.
The rooms/bathrooms are spick and span not a sign of spider webs, moss, cracks, leakages or any bad odour. The owner has done a great job with the design and quality of the furniture in the room. The cottage we stayed in was well ventilated and had a reasonable distance from the neighbouring cottages allowing each one their privacy. The mattresses and bedsheets were clean just like we like them. 24/7 hot water is available.
Wifi ia available at an additional cost.
The resort is situated on a hill top and guests are ferried to and fro by the resort jeep.
The owner and the manager were kind enough to help us with recommendations of places to buy quality spices, get an ayurvedic massage, popular cafes with great food(1980's cafe) and of course muddy boots(the experience we will never forget) the resort even organised a barbecue for the guests on new years eve.
Most importantly if you are looking for silence, bird songs and starry nights this is the place.
