I woke up from the tent and was awestruck because we got in at night and never really expected such a beautiful view.
The activities are average trek and stuff, but the food and hospitality is good.
Its a good family getaway spot.
Our stay at seagot banasura resorts last week end with family was awesome, The property is location is one of the unique one. Staffs are friendly & rooms in villas are well maintained and very spacious. The pricing of villas are very reasonable with tow bed rooms and a big living room and balcony over looking banasura sagar dam.
This place is not a traditional resort that most of us expect to see. They dont have a spa, or a swimming pool, or a playing area, or a room service, or a 24-hour reception, or an intercom, hell not even a proper approach road to the resort. They have a limited cell reception (only Vodafone works) & a much more limited staff.
Will I go there again? Probably not
Did I enjoy my stay? Absolutely best 3 days of the year.
I ended up booking it because apparently every other hotel/resort in Kerala was booked on that specific date. I was skeptical & worried after reading very limited online reviews, but here, I sit in my air conditioned office wondering why did I come back.
The resort will offer you the best view. It is built overlooking Banasura lake. During my stay, the lake was full & it was always heavily raining. The cocktail of weather, lake, adjoining mountains, lush greenery made it such an overwhelming view that I cant wrap words around it. And then I was travelling with the best company. The staff was extremely cooperative and courteous. You wish to eat something specific, tell them, they will oblige. I had the best Egg Biryani of my life there. There were no food options, which I think was best because then we could tell them to make very specific dishes & they would oblige. Considering the huge property that it is & the number of people that actually work, rooms were decently cleaned, washrooms even better. They could still do a lot more for rooms aesthetically, like change curtains or clean the balcony which is always under the fury of rain.
There are some points you must take care of:
1. Go in a group | Never just a couple.
2. Let a good driver take wheels on the approach road. I did that stretch 6 times myself while raining, I consider it a part of the resort experience.
3. Check if the lake has any water. Dont go otherwise.
4. Only Take a Villa.
The location is great. But the place is very badly kept. Road to resort is bad. Rooms are kept very badly. Dust, insects, old curtains with fungus, broken bathrooms etc. Power fluctuations throughout. Very less support staff for the resort.
Special Mention: Green Rich Holidays, Maniyancottu Building,K.P.Vallon Road,Kadavanthra,, Kochi, Ernakulam, Kerala 682020, who arranged the tour is a really bad operator. They cheat with high rates and poor support functionality. Please avoid Green Rich Holidays like the plague.
A warm welcome by a beautiful scenery. Good for groups looking for a weekend out. The villas are not very well maintained. The staff makes it worth staying as they cover up the weak management. They will arrange for a good time with tents and bonfire. The road to the resort is a nightmare for sedan travelers. Once in the resort the management will arrange for a jeep which will be great for further sightseeing as the drivers have good rapport with the locals thus giving special access to many places.
The staff is courteous and very helpful.
