We called in to make reservations and were informed of availability of only the INR 800/- and INR 1000/- rooms. The lodge is located inside a business center and close to the main market, right in the middle of a thoroughfare. As we alighted from our transport and walked into the central atrium of this establishment to take the flight of steps up to the lodge we realized that the location (which was circumspect when we checked the photos on the web) was most definitely embarrassing to brave. The Suite room was spacious, but windowless (and even if they had one it would require a brave man to keep them open) had an ominous odor, a grubby bath and was full of mosquitos. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, the linen stained (not that it was not shown soap and water and lucky we got our own blankets), the rest of the furniture was passable (which is understandable but we never used them maybe because we felt the vacuum cleaning was missing) and the power supply and hot water is on a time table. Meals have to be sourced from across the road. Sleep quality was pathetic the constant sound of water flowing off a faulty drainage on the first night and the incessant acoustic boom of dogs barking and scooters coming into and out of the establishment the next night plus the fear of a lecherous character wandering into the shuttered (but sheltered from the main road) business establishment below and creating a ruckus were extremely irritating. I would not venture to take my family / spouse here again for the simple reason that in a small town it is acceptable to be patient / tolerant to the limitations in the amenities / facilities offered however it is unacceptable to be subject to the frailties of a circumspect location. A word regarding the staff, as we noted, all were gentle, polite and helpful. However that was the only positive of the stay.
I visit the place frequently and stay at the same hotel. Its a very cosy place. The staff is very friendly and the best part is the cleanliness of rooms and toilets. It is located very close to the bus stand and is in the main market. Feels very safe to stay here. And above all the room tariff is very reasonable for the kind of rooms offered. A good big attached non AC room with TV costs just Rs. 350 for a night. Great value for money!
