We went to yelagiri to enoy the long weekend. The rooms were good but not worth the very high price we had to pay. The bathrooms were not cleaned properly. But we were offered a free upgrade for one of the 2 rooms booked. The hotel does not have a complimentary breakfast or even a news paper to offer the guests. Mosquito menace was another issue. Other than the restaurant which had very limited options besides a highly priced menu, there was a recreation room with a carrom board. The chicken used for the dishes seemed to be from a hen who had nothing to eat and only water to drink. I would advise anyone planning to visit yelagiri to book atleast 1 week in advance to get rooms in some of the good hotels like kumararaja palace, hotel land mark etc. also request not to use travel guru unless you need a very bad deal. The hotel manager also turned out to be the chief chef.

Had a wonderful experience over there. Very comfortable rooms. Food given by them or simply awesome. We went during the month of Ramzan, so they served the special biryani. Even I got food for my 1 year old son. We spent most of the time in room which was fun and wonderful. We went via goibibo deals it was superb and simply awesome. Manager was kind enough and he supported and guided us regarding the tourism.

A comfortable budget hotel; but can be improved A comfortable budget hotel; but can be improved

by Sachin P on October 23, 2017

I decided to visit Yelagiri after some scheduled classes over the week end got cancelled. This was my third visit to this very small hill station. Since this was a solo trip, and Yelagiri not being a very grand place I decided to go for budget accomodation. An online booking portal came up with the name of "Ulo Hill Breeze" hotel at Yelagiri. The reviews for the hotel was also good. This hotel is not in any of the main streets in town, but Google Maps could lead the way very accurately. The hotel administration have also put up small boards on the route (but it may not be very prominent). The hotel would be around 1km away from the main street of Yelagiri (the wide road coming from the plains). The check-in process was done quickly, and the staff also had accomodated my request for a late check-in. The room alloted me was a basic one. It was a large room, had a functioning wall mounted LCD TV and an intercom phone. How ever the cable TV network did not have any Malayalam or Kannada channels listed. The room looked a bit old, with one of the side walls having water seepage marks. The bed was big and neatly prepared, with clean bed sheets. The bath room was also spacious and clean. This room did not have running hot water facility, but since the weather was not very cold; it was not a big problem. Opposite the hotel is a green valley, and some of the rooms in the hotel may give a good view to the guests from the rooms. The hotel has a restuarant working in the same premises. The complimentary breakfast had the usual South Indian fare of Idlis, Upma and Vadas. The hotel has a room service facility, and there is a reasonably good list of menu items on the list. The hotel has an open parking area which can accomodate around six cars. But if the hotel sees a large number of guests, the parking may be a problem as vehicles would be forced to "double park". This budget hotel how ever has good scope to improve, and give the guests a bit more comfort. I got a rude surprise when the staff told me that they did not have bathing towels available! Had to adjust with an old towel lying in my vehicle. The wash basin had a tap/faucet which was not fixed properly and kept moving sideways. A few things which can be arranged with no extra cost would be simple items like a copy of the food menu & TV channel list placed in every room. Stocking up a some bath towels, bed sheets etc. would also be a good thing to have. The staff are friendly, and helpful to the best of their ability. Room service was prompt. The reception staff helped me by letting me know of a few scenic places near the hotel. This hotel is located in a quite area, and an evening walk through a small wooded area was a very relaxing experience.

Good hotel with noisy rooms Good hotel with noisy rooms

by jvijayk27 on April 19, 2017

The hotel manager was really good and the boys around. But one should not stay in the rooms that are valley facing, they are not covered properly and the noise is coming in as we are in an open place. Apart from that, its all fine.
