Day 1: Arrive Auckland |

On arrival in Auckland, transfer and check into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Auckland |
|
After breakfast, begin a city tour of Auckland, visiting places like the Victoria Park Market. Visit the Westhaven Marina and the volcanic crater of Mt. Eden for spectacular views of the city and Waitemata Harbour. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Auckland-Waitomo-Rotorua |
|
After breakfast, travel south through the fertile Waikato region to arrive at Waitomo. Enjoy a guided tour of the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves including an underground boat ride viewing the millions of glow worms on the cavern roof. Later, visit the forested Mamaku Ranges to reach Rotorua. Check into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4: Rotorua |
|
After breakfast, visit the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve to see boiling mudpools and roaring geysers. Following this, watch the bird life, trout and other wildlife before viewing a New Zealand Farm Show and an introduction to New Zealand farming. Spend the afternoon at leisure. In the evening, enjoy an authentic Maori Hangi (feast) and a concert. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Rotorua-Christchurch |

After breakfast, transfer to Rotorua Airport for your flight to the Garden City of Christchurch. Meet and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6: Christchurch-Dunedin |
|
After breakfast, travel south across the Canterbury Plains through the towns of Timaru and Oamaru to reach the Scottish influence city of Dunedin. Check into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7: Dunedin |

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic cruise including an interesting commentary out through Otago Harbour to Wellers Rock. Here you will have the opportunity to feed wading birds, shags, terns and gulls.

Day 8: Dunedin-Queenstown |

After breakfast, depart for Queenstown by train through the Taieri Gorge and Pukerangi. Proceed by coach through the old gold-mining trails. On arrival at Queenstown, check into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 9: Milford Sound |
|
After breakfast, proceed to Lake Te Anau and the Eglinton Valley and travel through the breathtaking man-made Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a cruise on this world famous fjord, dominated by Mitre Peak and the cascading Bowen Falls. Return to Queenstown for overnight stay.

Day 10: Queenstown-Mt. Cook-Christchurch |

After breakfast, travel through the Central Otago region and onto the small town of Twizel. Continue north following the shores of Lakes Pukaki to Mt. Cook, New Zealand's highest peak. Visit the Church of the Good Shepherd at Lake Tekapo before travelling across the Canterbury Plains to arrive in the Garden City of Christchurch. Check into hotel for overnight stay.
