|Fully owned by the Government of India, Indian Airlines or Indian started operations in 1953 with the aim of connecting Indian cities and with different countries. Together with Air India, they have a fleet of about 200 aircrafts. The logo, which is bright orange, finds inspiration in the famous chariot wheel of Konark Sun Temple in Orissa. With the change in logo, Indian was thus repositioned to offer world-class travel to passengers.
The fleet at Indian comprises of both Boeing and Airbus aircrafts. Along with several changes that they brought about, is a brand new frequent flier program with a host of benefits, faster and easier booking process, in flight meals and entertainment and customized packages for business or leisure travelers.
Indian covers about 58 domestic cities and 18 international destinations.
