Overall, a very pleasant stay at hotel. We stayed in a room on the second floor, which was clean and spacious. The staff were really efficient and friendly. The meals were very good. I recommend taking a car with a driver at the hotel who speaks very wellEnglish and drives very safely.English and drives very safely.

I stayed at the Accord Metropolitan for 1 night. The staff are very friendly. The food over priced with average menus which obviously didn't have any value. Although the room was small it was very comfortable. The cafe restaurant was excellent. Staff werevery helpful. JS Ramlalvery helpful. JS Ramlal

The ambience of the room inside the hotel was extremely good and excellent. Staff's service and cooperation is good. Food was too excellent and delicious with its varieties. Hotel was clean and maintained hygienie environment.

Reception / Front Desk is the face of a hotel. That's where you form your first impression and feel welcomed or begin to wonder whether you are at the right place. This hotel front desk was worse than that of a 2* hotel. I had reached at about 12 noon for an early check-in that I had requested earlier. One gentleman at the reception was attending to a cpl of guests and a lady in black was 'free'. When I approached her she looked at me as if she saw someone requesting for a check-in, for the first time. "Why don't you please get comfortable in one of those sofas Sir, we will call you" was her response. Based on what were they going to call me, I'm not sure. Not one sofa was free. I waited near the sofas for a while, then sat when I got a seat and still no one called me. (Later I saw a lady shouting at them for having made her wait endlessly while they checked-in people who came after her). They did serve cold lemon juice n offered cold towels - part of the nice things, mind you, not everything here was not as bad as the reception! When the reception desk became empty and still no one was calling, I approached the gentleman who asked my details and proceeded with check-in formalities. He offered me a twin bed room which was what I wanted. I had asked for it while booking; and for a non-smoking one too. I asked him about it and he told me that its certainly a non-smoking room but in a smoking floor (Whatever!). I chose to ignore his 'silly joke' of "If you do not smoke the room is non-smoking right?". Then he declared that my room package did not come with breakfast. I said it did. He assured me it did not. Then I showed him my booking confirmation. He refereed back to some papers and said it did adding something out of which I only caught a feeble "sorry". Check in was done. I was thankful for the early check-in. Then, when the nice and helpful Mr. Murugan (or Murugesh/Murugappa, sorry forgot the name of this very helpful gentleman) opened the door, what generation of smokers left behind greeted our nostrils. It was reeking of Cigarette smell. My asthmatic mother had to immediately cover her nose. Murugan and some other attendants scrambled to arrange air fresheners and such while I lost my cool a little over phone with the reception. They did shift me to 7th floor to a non-smoking room in 15 minutes, but there was no need for the front desk to put me through such inconvenience when I had clearly specified at the time of booking and clearly asked at the time of check-in for a non-smoking room. Just what were they thinking??? Other than this, hotel stay was comfortable. Room Air Conditioning did not have much of a control (rather effect for the control) except on and off. Room was clean. Bathroom was not very. Toilet flush was sort of damaged. Minor things that I usually do not see in 5* or even 4* facilities. Breakfast spread was reasonably good. I found all staff (except the front desk and the guy at the door who did not even offer a helping hand) courteous, very well behaved and very helpful. My checkout was equally eventful. Called the front desk 15 minutes before 12 noon and they agreed to make my bill ready. I booked a taxi and went to the reception at 12 (on 14th Feb 2014) to find it overcrowded with a bunch of guests at the counter being serviced by yesterday's gentleman. Another lady in Saree was attending to a guest. I stood next to him, waiting for my turn. She did not ask me anything, did not give me eye contact and I had no complaints; but for the next incident. An European looking gentleman walked into the lobby and seeing the crowd at the desk, waited his turn behind all of us. This lady saw him and immediately called him to the desk. She apologized for the 'delay' and requested him to wait. But the foreign gentleman could not understand a word of what she told him! He gave her his full ear, she repeated at close range and still he could not make out anything. At this point I found it my duty to help and 'helped the situation' by politely telling the new guest that "the lady wants him to WAIT". He nodded his thanks to me and went back to his position visibly annoyed at having called to the desk to be told to wait when he was indeed waiting! I am not going to describe the expression on the lady's face and leave it to your imagination. I am not sure where she had learned her hotel management that possibly taught her to IGNORE the guest waiting for his turn and attend to a newly walked-in one. It was simply disgusting. Had never experienced such a treatment in a star rated property (or any property) anywhere in the world. This could either be plain stupidity or remaining traces of colonial slavish mentality. I understand that for a country, someone coming from outside is a guest. For a hotel, everyone paying them is a guest irrespective of where he/she is from. In the end I had to approach a manager looking guy who was helping a group of people to get my checking out process completed. He asked another sary clad lady to do it which she ignored. then he himself went in and did it for me taking 20 seconds. (You were the only helpful person at the front desk; thank you sir!) Accord Metropolitan Chennai had a reception that made me feel unwelcome and unwanted. Would like to assure you that they are successful at that; I did get the message!

I prefer this hotel for my official visits for its convenient location, humane hospitality, quality and variety of food served and above all personalised care. Staff is very good and donot mind giving that extra bit of service. Though a 5* hotel, pricing is above mid range.

I am a regular guest & every month I put up for a week. Best in class.. overall decent experience. The foods served are awesome. All staffs are very professional & friendly. I would like to thank Mr. Venkat (house keeping), Mr. Rajarajan Paul (Executive Chef), Gopi & Tonmay (Front Desk) for the great service & care.

Stayed at the Hotel for one night and must say had a pleasant stay. It is highly recommended for the price i paid around INR 6000.00 The Check In was good and quick, Concierge Service was quick. Room was good and was well maintained, the bathroom though would need some maintenance and up keep. Room service was very prompt and courteous and i must say the food is also quiet good, i had ordered the Steak for Lunch and Hyderabad Biryani for Dinner and it was quiet nice. Special mention the hotel has multiple restaurant, pub but was busy with an hectic schedule and hence could not visit the them. Breakfast was quiet good with both Indian and Continental option. All in all a good stay and a recommended property.

We were here for 3 nights.we booked the hotel after reading reviews from trip advisor.based on my experience, this hotel is closed to Tnagar ( shopping area for indian clothes like sarees and kurthi).the hotel has grand looking lobby but the rooms are average level.the staff were friendly.when we entered our room, the room had strong smoking odour tho it was supposed to be non smoking room, the staff there immediately brought us the air purifier.room cleanliness average.furnitures are quite old.good breakfast.for those who are visiting India for the first time, bear in mind that every service provided there will be tax.eg luxury tax, government tax ..a total of five types of tax for each service given
