The capital of Sikkim, Gangtok is known for the splendid view of Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world, a large variety of flora and fauna and a rich cultural tradition. And finally, the serene town Darjeeling is known throughout the world for the tea it grows and the toy train that is a UN heritage.
Itinerary (Darjeeling - Kalimpong - Gangtok)
Day 1: NJP Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport–Darjeeling (About 90 kms/3 hrs)
Meet & Greet on arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport & transfer to Darjeeling, is one of the most magnificent Hill Resorts in the World. On arrival check-in to your hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Darjeeling (local sightseeing)
Early Morning (at 4.00 am) drive to Tiger hill to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Kanchendzonga (28,208 ft. worlds third highest peak), on way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Centre (closed on Sunday), Tea Garden (outer view), and Japanese Temple. Evening free (walking tour of mall -suggested). Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Darjeeling–Kalimpong (57 kms/2 hrs) sightseeing at Kalimpong
After Breakfast transfer to Kalimpong where on arrival check-in to your hotel. After lunch enjoy half day tour of Kalimpong Visit Delo Hills, Dr. Graham’s Home & flower Nurseries back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Kalimpong to Gangtok & sightseeing
After Breakfast proceed for picturesque drive to Gangtok- “The Capital City of Sikkim”. On arrival check-in to your hotel. After lunch proceed for a city tour visit Rumtek Monastery, Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday), Do-dul-Chorten, Flower Exhibition centre, etc. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 5: Gangtok (Trip to Tsomgo Lake)
Start for a half day trip of Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.), 34 km from Gangtok city & Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial. Tsomgo Lake freezes completely during the winter and is much revered by the locals. Overnight at hotel.
